You only ripped one layer to the HDD, it froze because of a call too the second layer which was not on the HDD. Use a program like Apache where you can switch layers within the program and extract it on your PC before you transfer it. Either way good luck if you havent followed the thread at all as of a long ways back noone has been able to get it to work on the HDD.

Meh. I would have bought it in '04 without online. It's '05 and still no online. If someone sorts this copy thing, maybe I'll check it out. Otherwise I can wait another year or so until they get it online. I mean two years. Well, probably three.

How big is the US version? And how do I properly extract both layers if that's the case?

I got an image that's 5.7 billion bytes. Some people would consider this 5.7GB and people considering a gig as 1024^4 would call this size 4.9GB.

Anyways, I wanted to know if I properly extracted an ISO of it, or if I ripped an image that was too small. If it's too small, how do I properly extract the full image?

First thing, you guys should of explored the disc all files and found out that all the game files are only 2.5 gigs. US Version. Then use only magic iso to create an iso image of your purchased game. Then burn with whatever. I used Nero. You guys got way lost on this dual layer bullshit. The image for us should be 2.49 GB (2,675,468,288 bytes). If you get this burn it pop it in and wham. Magic iso dont get lost in all the dummy files, but there is really no protection just alot of dummy files. have fun and buy the damn game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes this Gran Turismo 4 USA PS2DVD-JEI works and yes it is only 2.51 GB (2,697,330,688 bytes). Made with magic iso also. compared files. after you do this check properties on both discs and you will find you guys wasted some damn expensive media ha .

hello everyone been reading here without register for 2 years and this game has made me register lol. I just tried pimps method dl magic iso output dvd to iso and surprisingly it outputed a 2.5 gb file as dvd decripter outputed a 4.95 gb file an winiso another size 5.3 I think.
anyways burned it at 4x lowest my sony will let me with Nero on verbatim dvd-r and the result. It don't work get's to first screen and then goes black tries to access something as you can clearly here the lazer seaching. so my queation is if you got it to work with magic iso how? what settings? and why is 3 different programs outputting 3 different iso size files. pimp I think you got something with the dummy file thing though anyway's I want ripkit peace

it clearly states its 2 layers with decripter. so 2.5 gb is only half. new question with dl method if you output 2 2.5gb layers into 1 iso file and burn it does the first layer fill up to 4.7 gb then burn the remaining to the second layer if you split it perfectly like the original and burn appropiate size to each layer even if the second layer was written backwards to save wear on laser wouldn't it still work? just a thought as I'm still just a newb!

Heres my logic... the image is dual layer. You would need to know where image 0 ends and make that point the layer break for image 1. since decrypter tells us its Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP)we also know it needs to be oriented on the disk that way. with gearpro you should be able to do this... if this was on a HD would it be possible for image0 to call a seperate image on the HD?

ps whats peoples obession with lying about getting this to work

I think pimpofgt4 is pulling our legs saying he got it burn. Just like the other guy paT2005 who never came back to answer my question saying he got his burn. If these two are the only one that got their burn it could be either luck.

Does anyone know what the heck is IMAGEBURASSITENT in Alcohol 120?
