Dum...de...dum
No recollection at all of that post. I dont believe it happened and if it did,it wasnt me....er.....yeah.... :-D
I actually was....er....referring to next year :-D
I dont think that you will see the Thailand dude pumping in more than £70 or £80million, i dont think he can afford it. His £565Million is based on assets, rather than actually cash, so i cant see him selling everything he owns to give it to Liverpool lol.
Liverpool are gone from the top :-) Thy might come back, but will they have the international fan base to do this? Posibly, im not sure. Chelsea have a much larger fan base since they became Billionaires, but Manchester UNited, with the largest Fan Base in the world out of any sports club. With that kind of support, you cna have your hundreds of millions of pounds Chelsea, but if you keep making a loss each year, eventually your owner would realise...shit...im losing a fortune...and he may pull out.
Man United made £35million + in pure Net profits last time around, out of £140 odd Million in Turnover, thats a decent return. With a wage bill hovering around the 50%, compared to Chelseas 90% wage bill, and a turnover that was 40% less.
Everybody always says United doesnt have the money to go spending like Chelsea, and they are prob right, but we have a lot more to spend than most realise. can you really see Glazer and the Irish Boys, letting a club like Man United fall behind? Thats not good for the fans or them, they'll put the money in ot see returns....im sure of it.

Your very welcome to come post, even as a Spurs fan lol, Herbsman is one too ;-), and you stayed up this year so its concentrating on the next season now.
lol - everyone starts football somewhere. A few years ago I was as shit as they come. Now im playing in a high division in the Irish Amatuer League with my University. It just takes a lot of practice and a lot of fitness. Maybe you should change the custard pudding to a football lol ;-) that may help a bit :-D
I'll be posting on this thread on and off through-out the summer, unless some mod comes by and closes it for no reason, and hopefully be posted in it next season as well.
But if for some reason, anyone who has posted here finds the thread closed, come on over to my other thread on another forum which is running a very similar course. And its the owner of the website that is the other major contributer, a long with a few others, so i can see it staying open. Actually come to think of it, its one of the highest viewed threads on that site:

yeah i know not everyone likes the same thing, AFL is big in this country but i cant stand that crap. ITS DREADFULL. i was just making a joke. a rather lame one at that. anyway, for teams compiting in the premier league next year, its gonna be a hard task of emulating arsenals performances of being unbetten.

Haha - Liverpool catching Man Utd - no chance. If you have seen any of our summer signing potentials, you'll know liverpool isnt on the same boat as us.
Links so far:
Steven Gerard (Liverpool FC Captain) - quite unlikely, but has said not happy with Liverpool performance and Fergie loves him
Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid) - Quite likely to leave Madrid, UNited may not want him
Fernando Torres (Athletico Madrid Captain) - Amazing Striker only 19 years old. very expensive, but known to be a target of Sir Alex.
Juaquim (Real Betis) - Excellent Right Winger, known to have links with Man Utd, Madrid, Barca, Chelski etc.
Frank Lampard (Chelski) - Known to not be happy with his current wage at Chelsea - a true badge kisser, but doesnt matter what badge it is ;-)
Damien Duff (Chelski) - known to be ideal replacement for Giggs, but is very injury prone.
....etc...etc....
Liverpool links:
No one ;-)

Liverpool catching up Man UTD?...well in my opinion it's a distinct possibility considering the cash injection that Liverpool will recieve over the summer. Liverpool need just a few more players to be real contenders in my opinion. Cisse will be an excellent partner for Owen and that strike force will terrorise a number of defences in the league next year. They need a strong right sided midfield player and play Kewel on the left where he's at his best. If they get a strong centre back & a right sided defender they will be away.
Man UTD need to buy big and quickly to halt a decline that could prove terminal over the next few years.(Remember Liverpool of the late 80's early 90's?) The impending retirement of Keane & the waining qualities of Giggs, Neville's, Solksjaer, Butt need to be addressed. I think van Nistelroy will go to Real madrid, money talks and after all he has a potential career threatening knee problem that could explode at any time. UTD have made some extremely average signings of late. Djemba Djemba, David Bellion, Kleberson, Forlan, and the Jury's still out on Bambi Ronaldo. Just ask yourself this one question. How many current Utd players would get a place in the Arsenal starting Line up. I can think of ONE Ruud Van Nistelroy, and perhaps Ferdinand if he sorts his problems out.
Chelsea & Arsenal are now way ahead of UTD, in terms of squad age/depth & quality. They are now in a better position to snap up the best players. Look at Chelsea for instance. They have the money to Hijack any deal in the world, and will probably try aswell.
Oriphus. I know you are a mad UTD fan but for once look at your squad & manager and take your head out of your arse and admit, the glory days are nearly over. I will enjoy the debate next season, where my theories will be proved correct. I can hardly wait to laugh at all the whining UTD fans, my mouth is watering at the prospect.
Ps I am Spurs and they are shite!!!

lol - *removes head from arse*
Well, im afraid i really disagree with you there. For one, Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes would all most likely get a first team start for Arsenal. Arsenal are not miles ahead of United and Chelsea most certainly are not. If you have followed the season you will see that we were hit badly by Ferdinands mishap, had Wes Brown coming in after a long injury, and then had a lot of injuries to key players.
However, all is not lost. Our season has mirrored Real Madrids, yet we dont see anybody saying that Real Madrid are finished and on their way down. People love to hate United...Its a fact, however, since they are the biggest sports club in the world by a lot, and the the biggest Football/Soccer club in the world by even more, how can people say they think they are on their way out? 30% of liverpool is around £70-80million. 30% of United is over £250 million. U really think that Liverpool can compete with that?
United have won the premiership 8 times out of 12. Everyone said after we came 3rd in the premiership last time, that we were down and out. Yet we managed to come back and win it the following year. Look at yer history books, each time we come back and win it. We are resiliant.
United will make some good summer signings. Im sure of it. Young Ronaldo will be a superstar next season, he got the most man of the matches for United this season and he only seems to get better. Kleberson, plagued with injury and a world cup winner (started for Brazil in most cases) showed signs of coming into his own. The Nevilles are far from gone - quite the opposite, and thats why both of them are in the England Squad. Paul Scholes - one of the best attacking Mid Fielders in the world. Roy Keane, although injured a lot of the time, still in the top 3 Mid fielders in the Premiership. Nicky Butts been called up for England and Ferdinand would've been had he not been suspended, which is a complete farce anyway. That would have been more United players than any other team sending players to the England squad. Seems that the England head coach still thinks United have a good team....
Right now im seeing Alan Smith offers of £3.5 and £5.5 million rejected, but United are determined to get him. He will be a great signing. Louis Saha is an amazing prospect, should have loads of goals next season. RvN probably wont go, he is a great striker, but if he leaves United there are loads of people willing to come and fill his void.
We Will be back in form this coming season - expect atleast a double from us. Arsenal, the team everyone says is amazing, yet to win the Champions League, out of the FA Cup and no chance of retaining the Premiership next season. If Thiery Henry gets injured, bye bye Arsenal...

Wrong! Giggs for Pires or van Persie (watch him fly next year!!)? Keane for Viera? Ferdinand for Campbell? Silvestre for Tore? Scoles for Lundberg? You're 'aving a laugh mate.
The only 2 that stand a chance from that, perhaps are Ferdinand (if you can get him away from his shopping..if you get my drift.) and Wobbly Ronaldo for Lauren..although lauren gives Arsenal great balance on the right hand side.
Quote: If you have followed the season you will see that we were hit badly by Ferdinands mishap
Probably correct but why oh why did Ferguson NOT get a replacement?. THE dumbest decision of the year. Southgate was there and ready & qualified for the champions league. Simp,y AMAZING!!!
Quote: Our season has mirrored Real Madrids, yet we dont see anybody saying that Real Madrid are finished and on their way down
Real Madrid will be finished (from the top 4) if they do not buy 3 centre backs and a stong holding midfielder. Roberto carlos & Salgado care class!. Morientes is coming back after a Monaco loan so that will help them.
Quote: Its a fact, however, since they are the biggest sports club in the world by a lot, and the the biggest Football/Soccer club in the world by even more,
Wrong again mate. Chelsea have far more spending power, at the moment, than UTD will or have ever had. It don't matter a rat's turd if the clubs worth more, its the spending power that counts. With a cash Injection of £50 million, debatable if its all going into the team, Liverpool will be STRONG next year, especially if Houllier gets the cold bullet treatment (as i expect)

It is the quality of squad that determines resilience. Beckam was in your side then, protecting Gary Nevilles shortcomings.Keane was younger, Scholes looked happy!! Liverpool won several championships by the end of the 80's. They lost a few key players and it all fell to pieces.
Quote: The Nevilles are far from gone - quite the opposite, and thats why both of them are in the England Squad
The reason that they are in the England squad..well god knows. Perhaps we havent got anyone better. Both lack pace & Phil Neville..well his gaff against Romania in Euro 2000 was major..and cost us dearly. I would rather Glen Johnson of chelsea be given a chance at right back, he may be injured I am not sure. Owen Hargreaves is in the squad perhaps he can give Gary Neville a run for his money.
Alan Smith is not a great goalscorer. He could never replace van Nistelroy (if injured next year..or if he's at Real madrid) Smith is a class whinger though with a major attitude problem. He will get on really well with Keane & Gary Neville (Both class A whingers). Where would you play Smith then? If you play Smith you drop Saha. I suppose you could play him behind a front 2 (ala Scholes) with a diamond midfield, then Scholes gets the bullet.
Time will tell if Saha is a true goalscorer, I have my doubts, he's already had a "Pop" at van Nistelroy in the tabloids (allegedly of course). Me thinks he may be "Found out" next year.
Quote: expect atleast a double from us. Arsenal, the team everyone says is amazing, yet to win the Champions League, out of the FA Cup and no chance of retaining the Premiership next season. If Thiery Henry gets injured, bye bye Arsenal...
Wishful thinking..well of course Arsenal & Chelsea will be weaker next year. They will still,BOTH be far stronger than UTD. If Henry gets injured next year, yes Arsenal will be a lot weaker, but Reyes will shine next year. I expect Wenger to act quickly, unlike 'ole blotchy faced, wheres my rock of gibraltar dosh, Ferguson.
My prediction for next year
1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. Liverpool
4. Newcastle
5. Man UTD (unless they wise up & sack Ferguson & get Martin O'Neil, then expect UTD to finish top)

The point was that United IS the biggest club in the world, money is only half of it, Chelsea will be losing money every year and lots of it with the way Roman Abromavich is going about it. United make a larger profit each year that goes by and have a fan base so many times larger than Chelseas, Liverpools and Arsenals. That counts for a lot and thats why they will not be on a losing streak.
Anyone would take Giggs over Van persie lol, goes without saying. A battle for a start with Pires and Giggs, that could be interesting....Definitely Keane (if fit) for Vierra, every time we play Arsenal, Keane wins the mid field battles. Ferdinand could play alongside Campbell no problem, Silvestre sometimes....Paul Scholes before any other attacking midfielder - he's the best at what he does. Wobbly Ronalda, again a man of the match against Aston Villa, tore Arsena's right side to shreads at Old Trafford. From my position near the side lines second tier, it was clearly evident and the commentators stated that too. Everyone has realised that Ronaldo is going to be big. When he plays Spurs next year, you'll be shitting ur pants lol.
Oh...and we didnt buy Southgate because we didnt want him at that time, simple as that. i think the manager shouldve brought in someone, but, at the end of the day, he's the most succesful manager in the world, lets not be too critical...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Rolling over laughing.
Anyone that thinks that Liverpool and Newcastle can finish higher than United, needs their heads seen to. Not a chance in hell that United will finish 5th. We WILL win the premiership, Arsenal wont be as LUCKY this year to scrape so many 1 goal wins and draws when playing poorly....and we will go far in the Champions League
Roll on Season 04/05 till we make yet another come back in style as we do everytime we lose out....

I should have taken a more active role in this thread ages ago. Ive missed out big time.
It's great to wind up the Man Utd supporters every now and again, makes me feel better about supporting a Nob end team like spurs. But seriously though you need to spend BIG in the summer, otherwise money bags Chelsea could run away with it. There is one player that would fit in well in your outfit though Raphael Van der Vaart, he's a potential superstar, will be good watching him at the Euro championships.
Watch out for Van Persie next year, that geezers got rocket propultion. Makes Overmars look like a tortoise with piles.
yeah yeah..i shite me pants every season when ANY decent team play Spurs. I almost commited suicide when spurs lost 4-3 at home to man City after we were 3-0 up at half time.
Look like spurs have got Frank Arnesan (who's he??) to take over ole Plonker Pleat as director of football. That's all we need is a bloomin dutchman, but his record at PSV was superb, so who knows. Ive got this sneaky feeling that Rudolph The Rednose Redknapp may become spurs manager!
I must admit though I really have a strong feeling for Liverpool next year, although I hate them scousers like no one else.
Not long now before the Euro Championships start, I got a sneaky for a Holland vs France final.
England have a slim chance. I would like them to play 3 at the back, 5 in midfield & 2 upfront, but it's bound to be a traditional 4-4-2

Yeah, you've missed out loads of great opportunites to slag of a Man Utd supporter :-)
Frank Arnesan is the Coach over at PSV Eindhoven, good manager and will be good for Spurs. Somebody needs to take spurs and give them a good kick up the arse. Robbie Keane is a gem you've got to harness.
Van Der Vaart i watch all the time in the Durch league. Amazing player, will be a superstar and really looking forward to watching him in Euro 2004. Ill be in Portugal for 2 weeks so im hoping to try and get a ticket to something lol - it will be hard though :-(
Quote: yeah yeah..i shite me pants every season when ANY decent team play Spurs. I almost commited suicide when spurs lost 4-3 at home to man City after we were 3-0 up at half time.
What a match - i really laughed my tits off at that one, though if i was honest, i do like to see Spurs doing alright, nice to see our Irish lad Robbie scoring and getting better, its all good for Ireland.
On the England formation, its hard to know with Sven what he's gonna do this time. I think it is most likely to be a 4-4-2, or if he plays Paul Scholes, which i think he will, he may try to opt for a 4-3-1-2 so to speak, or the diamond formation. Either way, i think that England have got quite a strong squad this year and could be semi-finalists of finalists. Im hoping france do another whopper and flunk it. I think that Portugal are in for a shout as well this year. Some very good players in their side, particularly Ronaldo lol. Of course Figo, Postiga, Andrade, Valente, Rui Jorge, Rui Costa, Pauleta and loads of others no doubt. What u think of Postiga, since he's a spurs chappie lol?

Ive been thinking about the england formation for the first France game. I am getting very nervous about that. I think perhaps we should play a 5 man midfied, with just one up front. It's important we don't lose that one, try and get a point then try and turn over The swiss & croatia. I would really be tempted to play, Gerrard, Beckam, Lampard in the middle, Dyer on the right, and god knows on the left, I would personally like Bridge or Cole to move into that area, or even Phil Neville. He did well at Man Utd this year in the middle. Unfortuantely though that means scholes is on the bench. I would also be brave and leave Rooney upfront on his own.
Portugal have a pitiful side, they even picked Helda Postiga for their squad, they must be desperate. I also think France will hit top form, but if they don't beat england in the opening match panic may well set in.
I heard that the Taiwan move into liverpool may be off?, but theres another premier team lined up..watch this space as they say

Would you really leave out Paul Scholes. I can see a natural 4 across Midfield, one of the centres being Frank lampard and the other being Gerard, with Paul Scholes playing in front of them, sort of like a 4-4-1-1 that UNited can sometimes play. I cant really see the manager leaving Paul Scholes on the bench thouhg. Most regard him as one of the most naturally gifted players in Europe, he is a great reader of the game and has very good passing and usually one touch control...

Time will tell on the line up but Erickson must be a bit worried about Scholes lack of form this year, and he hasnt scored a goal for england for a good while now. Lampard is catching up fast with Scholes & he may use him instead. ( i think only one of those 2 will play)
Looks like Liverpool have entered the chase for Alan Smith, although i must admit if I were Smith (and given the historical rivalry between Liverpool & Leeds) I would choose utd. But i am not sure he would be really be what Utd are looking for. They could do with a younger midfield orchestrater & another centre back. Saha, Van Nistleroy & Solksjaer are fine upfront.
Back on the sad spurs sob story. Looks like Martin Jol , who Man Utd were after earlier this season, is looking like a favourite to take over the coaching position at spurs.

I think that Paul Scholes has had a lack of form with England, he is playing well and is still producing the magic in and around the ball, but he should score more goals for them.
Im off to watch the playoffs and the Uefa Cup final for a bit - wonder who will win both......

As for the euro champs as a scot ill be totaly behind england like(lmao)but i think lampard has to be picked in front of Scholes who is suffering in the current man utd team(to much rubbish around him) but ya come on france(sorry meant england)
Oriphus if man u get 1 of those players in yer list ull be doing good the bottom line is chelsea and arsenal have raised the bar and u"s are falling behind a bit,i the part bout biggest in the world dont mean nutting as would the biggest club in the world be so tight as to be outbidded easily for a player like u"s were with robbens(dont think madrid would ever let that happen(who btw are the biggest in the world in terms of achevements and getting the best players)

Madrid are only the biggest spenders, nothing more. Spend a fortune, get back something of course...lol
I dont think you can say that Chelsea are a step ahead of United this season. They only just finished above us, granted that Arsenal were a lot better is a team than us this season.
However, i think we are all in for a big shock when United come back with a double next season. I dont know how anybody could rule out Manchester United of a comeback. We are the team that have dominated the Premiership since its start and have the resources to continue dominating it. Aslo, we dont know what will happen with Malcolm Glazer and McManus/Magnier and whether or not we'll see a takeover, though of course, not as wealthy a man as Roman, but remember that 80% of his wealth is in assets, can you see him selling those to continually pump more money into a football club?? Im not so sure....they need to start looking at making a profit or atleast breaking even, however, with a deficit of £100millio last year, and a likely big sum this year, i cant see that happen.
Paul Scholes hampered by United? United made Paul Scholes. United still has the best facilities out of any of the Premiership teams and indeed European ones to make a great player better. You are bound to see some good signings coming to United, a strong start to the season, first up will be beating Arsenal and Chelsea, then we'll see who's laughing.....
Liverpool.....4th place is the best they'll do for sure....
