DVD backup with DVD shrink - will it work with Sonic?

Hi guys can anyone help me with this?A friend wants to make backups using DVD shrink but doesn't have Nero.His Dell PC came with Sonic, which he has used successfully for CD and VCD backups.Will DVD shrink work with Sonic or is Nero the only/best option?

If Sonic is able to burn video_ts files or ISO files, then yes. DVD Shrink just will not auto burn with Sonic.

If it doesn't work, you can always use DVD Decrypter to burn. Use Shrink to create an ISO then burn the ISO w/ Decrypter.

I tried using video_ts files and it didn't work.
I'll look around for a ISO image on my comp.
If I have one that I didn't delete, I'll try it.

I didn't have any ISO files, so I created one with Shrink from video_ts files that haven't been deleted yet.
Sonic Record now version 6.5 OEM burned it fine.
If no compression is needed, Decrypter is all you need.

Compression is needed, so he should use DVD Shrink to first create the Video TS files, then convert those to ISO files, correct?Can you briefly tell me how that's done (converting TS to ISO files) or direct me to e guide on taht if there is one.Much obliged!

No.

You don't need other software. The combination of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter will work.

In Shrink you click "backup!" it will bring up this screen. You need to change the target destination to ISO Image File or ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter.
