Okay I have a slim psp 2001 running 5.50 gen d3 cfw(dont remember the exact mobo)
I've installed the popsloader for "GEN".
I have two psx game on my psp which I've aquired from you-know-where since the tutorials to rip discs were confusing to me cuz I'm slow lol
anyway I have 1 single eboot for mgs1 and three eboots for each final fantasy disc.
I AM WONDERING IF USING THE 'ORIGINAL FROM FLASH OPTION' IN APPROPRIATE FOR 5.50 GEN D3 FOR THESE GAMES???? I dont't remember the exact id for the discs but they're obviously working and from the US(I think..)
I have noticed something positive with mgs1 though. When I first started I tried using 4.01 figuring it was the latest version. I was having issues with dialog skipping it the cutscenes. I tried other versions, still the same issue. I TRIED THE FLASH OPTION AND THEY ISSUES WERE ALL GONE!!!!
As far as final fantasy 7 goes, I've had that issue where there would be small popping noises during the cg scenes. I tried running a few different version from the pops menu from gen and couldnt solve the probelem.
I JUST DONT WANT TO ENCOUNTER ANY PROBS SWITCHING DISCS IN FF7 AND SO ON.
AM I USING GOOD SETTINGS??
and yes I looked at the compatibility site; it didnt seem to have much info for gen d3 using these games...

I have fixed the problem here were my steps:
1. I downloaded a file called "Slim_Root" from mediafire and opened it to find it was the entire content of the entire psp root with addons.
- Copy to root of psp and overwrite yes to all.
2. I downloaded a different version of FFIX, it was from iso hunt:
Final Fantasy IX [PSP PSXrip US] [h33t][polabar]
- This will come as 4 separate files with 4 eboots and 4 Keys.bin in each.
- Put the 4 folders into 0:\PSP\Game\
3. Go to recover mode > Configuration disable every except
UMD Mode - set this to Sony NP9660 - NO UMD -
Use VshMenu - Enabled
XMB Usb Device: Memory stick
Use M33 network updated - enabled
Use version.text - enabled
4. Then go back and select Advanced > Advanced Configuration and have everything disabled.
5. Then go back and in plugins everything disabled except for popsloader.prx
5. Exit recovery mode: when you select disc one
(mine was the second file not the first - as shown in "information") it will ask you to use pops - I used 3.71.
Game started with sound.

wherever you got the info that it needs 3.30 is wrong.
read http://www.gamerspress.com/index.php?tit...patibility_List
the problem that most don't realize is some people make the single or multidisc eboot with the wrong IDs in your case the disc ID needs to be SLPS-02480 and has not been tested much as a multidisc eboot so you may need to try earlier or later versions of pops fw other then 3.30-5.00 M33-3 as they are the glitchy ones
also try downloading the eboot again from another source like pspiso.com or...
make your own from the original discs so that you can be sure of making the eboot correctly and i recommend not making it multi boot as this causes more errors then saves space and is only required for certain games that need to change disc before a save for that disc can be made but that can be fixed by editing the game IDs to be the same so if your so inclined to make your own you will need a few different programs to accomplish all of this.
if you don't have a popsloader with all the firmwares i have already made one that you can download for m33 or gen cfw here http://www.theonyxguild.com/PSP.POPSloader.5.00-M33-2.rar

okay here is a new link i host myself so it should be better and just extract and read the readme.txt basically just open the folder for whatever firmware you use gen or m33 and copy the seplugins folder to the root of the memorystick , and if you use any other plugins you will have to add them again or merge the pops.txt you have so you may want to make a backup if needed...
PSP.POPSloader.Pack.PSxRAR.rar

ok well first off my pack includes 3.40 to 4.01 so you didn't read the readme on how to install it right...
you need to copy the SEPLUGINS's folder from PSP.POPSloader.5.50-GEN and paste it to the root of your memory stick then you need to copy the popsloader folder from my pack into the SEPLUGINS's folder you just copied onto your stick to give you all the pops cfws and you don't need to use psardumper since this pack has already done all that and is meant so you can skip it and you need to get a better cfw file so you can upgrade to 5.50 gen d3 without errors it seems like something is wrong with your internet connection if you are having trouble downloading from my web server and are getting currupted files..
http://www.qj.net/qjnet/psp/custom-firmware-550gen-d3-final-released.html
btw the PSP.POPSloader.Pack-PSxRAR.nfo is a scene release file that can be opened with notepad using a terminal font.
also check my links in my signature or my readme.txt or .nfo for the psx compatibility list and see what firmware your psx eboot needs to be run on or just experiment with them.

I've got a question, because I've been looking everywhere and I don't fully understand why things "are the way they are."
For example howcome Digimon World 3 won't work properly on Photofast CR-5400. It's not the only game that doesn't work.. a lot of games have compatibility issues, but have they never been addressed? or is it just a matter of "perfect settings" because I've tried holding down R trigger on the PSP when i start the game and play the game in 3.52 and its supposed to run great.. but it doesn't. Just kinda craps out on me and freezes. I don't really want to have to use another card for it to "work" on Gen-D but is this as far as people have been able to get in the PSP-Scene?
I love love love the sony systems, PSP is easily my most favorite handheld, but I don't think its unfair to say that the PS1 games should at least be more playable now..
oh yea, I forgot to mention before i pushed "submit" that ShaggyZE is pretty freakin awesome for uploading the plugin software he helped me out quite a bit. I really really appreciate your help. Idk if anyone else has said thanks to you, but I just wanted to say so. =]

I am having problems I've never had before. I REALLY NEED THE ASSISTANCE I CANT FIGURE THIS OUT AT ALL!(please, just read this its a little long but..)
My pops menu appears EVERYTIME WITHOUT HOLDING R EVEN WHEN CONTINUING A SAVED GAME and i've realized on my eboots, no option in the pops menu works EXCEPT ORIGINAL FROM FLASH?? Its like this on both 5.50 gen d2 and gen d3....Any other option I pick will freeze the games instantly, leaving me the need to remove the battery.
ALSO ALL MY SAVE FILE PICKS ARE ALL OF FINAL FANTASY 6!!!!(or my rpg games at least) I once downloaded a ff6 eboot but deleted it cuz it was taking long to load between screensscreens and I somehow overworte the pic with the ff7ff7 save.
I just downloaded chrono chross AND ITS THE SAME THING???? how is that possible...I'm so lost.
I tried downgrading to 5.00m336. I installed the popsloader 'full pack for m336'....SAME DAMN PROBLEM!!!! I have no idea what the hell is going on. My psp has suddenly become immune to popsloader!!! why would this be happening????????????
btw for extra info I have a psp 2001(slim) with a ta-085 mother board(assuming this cuz I've successfully soft-modded a pandora with a magic memory stick before)
I'm begging for the assistance, I've been poking around everywhere..thanks everyone

try downloading my popsloader pack in my signature and replace yours follow the instructions in the readme.txt or my previous posts, and the ff6 logo appears on alot of the psx game saves it just a minor bug of those that make their eboots with the wrong sized image and the psp makes ff6 the default icon for invalid eboot game save images.

i've converted over 200 ps1 games so far and have always found a firmware or game id/save id to use that would get past any glitches and i guess i should mention i use a psp slim with latest gen cfw but the trick is to try every pops firmware and to convert the psx cd's yourself and find out what works best with or without multi disc eboots though i have not tried digimon world 3 so i can't advise you on that one but when i have some time and if i remember i'll add it to my to do list.
unfortunately sony changes things too often to stop the modding and things get lost and/or changed and cause un-compatibility with everything between firmwares so thats why we need popsloader to help and whats worse is now dark alex has left the scene and it seems there won't be any new developments in ps1 on the psp or even a new cfw for 6.00+ is gonna take a miracle...so like many other i've moved over to the wii modding scene and its running ps1 better then the original xbox though still not 100% sound yet.

I hope this request isn't unfounded or "bad" but is it at all possible to get a "copy" of your seplugins and system folder since if i'm not mistaken they should be nothing but system files. if its not ok, sorry for asking but also i'd like to know if you're using Gen-D(Final) cause i'm using the phat. It would be great to know anything that would help, cause i would love to make my own eboots.

i am using gen-d3 final however i have been out of the psp scene for a little bit even though i still mod for people and provide help i have been focusing more on the wii so i don't have anything on my memory sticks to copy for you but i don't see how that would help you anyway other then having the plugins that i like to use if you want to learn how to make your own eboots theres plenty of guides on it here

thank you shaggy, i really appreciate it. I'm hoping i'll be able to make good use of what i've got and what i've been reading.
Basically the reason for asking a copy of those was to see if I could eliminate all the things I could have made a mistake in for example having the right settings for the plugins and things.

My psp has suddenly become immune to popsloader!!! why would this be happening????????????
btw for extra info I have a psp 2001(slim) with a ta-085 mother board(assuming this cuz I've successfully soft-modded a pandora with a magic memory stick before)
I'm begging for the assistance, I've been poking around everywhere..thanks everyone
try downloading my popsloader pack in my signature and replace yours follow the instructions in the readme.txt or my previous posts, and the ff6 logo appears on alot of the psx game saves it just a minor bug of those that make their eboots with the wrong sized image and the psp makes ff6 the default icon for invalid eboot game save images.
same problem. doesnt matter which one I download. I've even tried popsloader on another memory stick and no luck. My psp has somehow suddenly decided to become completely immune to popsloader for no reason I could figure out. didnt you mean to say to put the popsloader folder(with all the pops versions) in the root and leave everything else in the plugins?? thanks for your assistance though. If you have any other advice or input I'd appreciate it. this whole thing makes no sense..WHAT THE HELL DID I DO TO MY PSP??? :(EDIT: I'm trying a few time with ff7. sometimes 3.71 starts it and sometimes I'll get a game could not be started erroe. but the thing is I thought the posloader folder that had the actual pops versions in it was supposed to go in the root as its OWN folder, separate from the seplugins folder which has the pops.tx and popsloader.prx, if not that might be what I was doing wrong.
ACTUALLY I THINK ITS WORKING!!! THANKS LOL my metal gear solid is no longer starting up with pops automatically!! so far so good. Ive come to the conlusion that the multi part eboot of final fantasy 7 on gen d2 works on 3.72 BUT no 3.71 so I guess thats the way those eboots were configured(im guilty of you know *ARRGHH* what)
but a version other than original from flash did work once or twice so Im getting resluts. Honestly, if the games I play work with original from flash maybe i shouldnt worry too much, but I would hate to have to encounter an error due to not using a numerical version of pops on certain games.

so just to clarify so others don't make your mistake, the popsloader folder with all the pops decrypted firmwares go into the seplugins folder that reside in the root of the memory stick like ms0:\seplugins\popsloader and ensuring that the poploader plugin is enabled in the recovery menu and lastly it should only ask you the pops to use on the first time you run any given ps1 eboot after that you have to hold R to get to the menu so the problem you are now having is not knowing what firmware to run your eboots with and possibly eboots that have not been converted properly so download others or make your own if necessary also i have a link on tested pops firmwares with various games for compatibility in my signature for those who need it.

yea, but the fact that almost all my save data files of ps1 games are the same save pic of a game I deleted way back before completely reformatted my game is a little creepy. -_- lol I guess that should be the least of my issues(it almost bothers me cuz I cant figure out how that would even remain. perhaps its the fact that I havent tried using other eboots. but I'm not sure how thats remained it the psp memory)
also I should mention, starting a new game a chrono trigger eboot, the pops menu didn't appear automatically. 0_0 could that be perhaps it may not need popsloader??

like i mentioned before this is the Alucard save icon glitch which is a result of using icon0.png images bigger than 80x80 pixels on a pops higher than 3.71 as past 3.71 sony decided on all PS1 games having 80x80 is standard even if you've never had the castlevania game sony replaces the save icon.
so anyone using the wrong sized images when making their eboots will have this glitch and its just one of the many problems eboots can have if you don't know what your doing and most times when a eboot does not work with the popsloader plugins then its the person who made the eboot's fault.

lol alucard, i knew that guy looked familiar..XD(not big with castlevania games) I wonder why I dont here more people reporting this issue. is this suppose to be an uncommon glitch or something??? is it suppose to ever affect the actual save data?? if not then I guess it isnt such a big deal. it seems like such a random bug. I mean it couldve been a character from ANY game. thanks for telling me about that i was wondering what the f*ck it was that was making all my games have the same save data. but even now, the only game that I think has the smaller proper default save data pic dimension on my ms is metal gear solid.

its not as common as it use to be and it only affected the pictures, problem was some of the older psx to psp converters didn't make the program changes to the new standard when firmware 3.80 came out so now it only happens when someone uses an old program or just doesn't know any better as for why its always alucard well guess you would have to ask sony on why they chose it to be the default for invalid eboot images.
