great price on these MCC003 verbatims, i use TONS of these, flawless backups when booktyped to dvd-rom(this is just what i do personally on ALL my dvd+r media); however, i can't stand rebates personally, so, i am going to pass on this one, but, great price and great media for all those who are interested, nice find livndgirl~ :)

Thanks Girl. 666, why can you stand the rebate thing? I have no problem with them. Most of the deals involve with rebate.

@na_tra
i just don't like waiting for them, while i have done rebates in the past, i have not always received all of them. let's just say i haven't had the best of luck w/ rebates, some are much luckier than i am...this is just a personal opinion of mine, based on the countless number of rebates i NEVER did receive in the past.
no prior experience w/ newegg rebates for me, but, tigerdirect, linksys, d-link, and other misc. rebates on computer components never came after months of waiting.
for those that don't mind the wait, this is a GREAT opportunity to get some good media for cheap, i on the other hand, don't even bother with rebates now since i end up paying more for something now IF i don't receive the rebate. it's the hassle that made me this way, if it works for you, go right on ahead...my comment above was just a generalization of MY OWN opinion on the whole rebate thing; and as i stated earlier, this is a GREAT price and a great deal for those that are willing to wait~

i have purchased from newegg MANY MANY times before, dropped well over $10k w/ that company alone, and i still continue to use them, you shouldn't have any problems with the rebates, i trust that company w/ all my hardware purchases. :) hope that adds a little bit of reassurance to you, im sure they will come through just fine~
have a good one

thanks, LivnDGirl, for posting this up!
newegg goood!
verbatim MCC003 goood!
the only question is if these are the silver matte type I get in the
50pks with the purple-ish colored insert band. Please post if you know!
My litey really likes these MCC003's, better kprobe results than TY'S!
I usually don't trust rebates either, but I trust newegg to cover any problem...And verbatim isn't a cheesy company...like best buy ;)
woohooo!

I think it was said elsewhere that Verbatim rep has stated ALL Verb dvd-r's are Azos, and yes they are made in Taiwan...
to Mitsubishi Chemical Company (Japan) standards. I have never heard of Verbatims from Jp, but that's just me.
Newegg also get their orders out pronto, I had forgotten how fast!

daiymo:
Yes these are the silver matte finish like the 50pks.
I buy the 50s and the 100s from a local Sam's Club.
The last 100s I got from Sam's Club were $ 44.xx.
Never had a coaster yet that wasn't my fault with these.

thx LivnDGirl
i just got mine in the mail yesterday.
my desktop lite on 1673 seems pretty picky with media, had no problems with these mcc-003s
came in a stack of 100, not two 50 packs.
ran dvd identifier on them, and they are mcc-003
package said made in taiwan, which i would normally stay away from if i was at fry's or best buy, but i've heard nothing but good things about these.
i think people who offer rebates know the statistics on people who actually get around to filling out the paperwork, and there are many people who plan on doing it but just forget.
i get tons of stuff at fry's that is basically free after rebate, so far i've only forgotten about one $9.99 thing.
can't keep up with what makes it back and what doesn't, but i have a steady stream of rebate checks coming in, lol.
best bet is the day after thanksgiving, tons of good deals at fry's, many free after rebate items, and if you get in line around 2am or so, you can get the best deals before they run out. last year fry's had a 27 inch tv for like $70....just missed out on it, but i did get a 3.1 megapixel digital camera for $47, regularly about $120.
anyway, thanks for the link to the verbatims. i just installed my liteon on my desktop, and due to the p3 800 mhz cpu and 512 mb ram, it takes about twice as long to burn as with the laptop's p4 2.66 ghz, 384 mb ram...so i think i'll be using the laptop til i can figure out how to bump up my cpu or save up for a whole new 'puter

well I just got mine, mcc003's all the way. However the outside label wrap does not have the Mistubishi Chemical info in red like the 50pks do...
And as far as rebates go, there are a few retail companies I WON'T trust due to many indicators as far as user feedback on the web, BestBuy and
CompUSA being the two biggest violators of trust...I have had no problem with Microcenter, Office-Max-and-Depot's rebates. They TAKE their own sweet time, but then, you kind of have to expect that.

I am bummed...
I must have a bad batch, cause these things are NOT looking like the normal MCC003 curve I get in kprobe like I have gotten from 100's of discs @ 50pk's from sam's club. 10 discs taken at random from the spindle...
Not good at all. Bleh.

ok, I would like to get the opinion and advice of those of you that have used newegg a lot before, cause this is too much! I sent an email asking for an RMA re: my 100pk of really bad Verbatims, this is what I got back
in response. Note towards the bottom that they are offering me next to nothing to KEEP my defective merch. Is this NORMAL with them?
"Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for contacting Newegg.
We are sorry to hear the unfavorable circumstance. All the items are
shipped out our customers exactly as what we receive from manufacturers and pre-boxed by them. We may do a replacement of item # 17-130-957 for you. Please kindly note, you have to send the 100 pk to us together and any physical damage will void the product warranty. Our RMA department will do inspection on all RMA returns. If they inspect that any Disc is physical damaged, the original package will send back to you. We really appreciate your u understanding and cooperation.
However, since we always try to help our customers, we would also like to offer $15 for you to keep it as-is. Then you may purchase some in your local store and this may save your time and effort. Please reply to this email with your decision and we will then assist you further.
Thank you,Nancy Nancywang@Newegg.com"

Well, I kind of understand it because the only one who makes out in the end of a return are the shippers. I've ordered tons of stuff from Newegg, and they are usually very good (although I've never had to deal with customer service). I usually cross my fingers and pray that my package is okay. If you think about it, if you can even use 50 disks out of the 100, you'll break even after the rebate and $15 credit. I think your situation is that 1 out of 100 - good odds, but someone has to be that one.
BTW, Amazon has the 100-pack of Verbatims for $32, no rebate.

eeeehhh that's just insulting tho. $15 won't get me very far unless I buy office max house brand...lol
And as far as breaking even, the only feasable way I could do that is if that faulty discs were pre-marked 'BAD' so I didn't have to burn and k-probe each one, only to find out that it was indeed a crap burn :)
I am also wondering if the missing 'Mitsubishi Chemical Company' logo
in red has anything to do with this, as ALL of the 50pks I have gotten
from Sam's Club have this on the label, whereas this 100pk did not.
If the replacement batch works out, fine, if they don't I am going to be mightily suspicious of them, after using 100's of the *50pk* MCC003's I expect that curve to be the same, and who wouldn't?
