Ok just purchased a BenQ DW1620 drive , i can play dvd's etc just fine. But when i go to shrink to burn a dvd it doesnt recognize the blank media. i have tried a couple different dvd-r brands thinking maybe it was a media problem. In XP it shows the blank media in the drive so its picking it up there, i can also use dvd-identifier and nero tools to do scans of the blank media and that works just fine. Any idea's or help would be greatly appreciated.

Shrink doesn't burn. It just rips (most movies) and compresses. It is able to open up another program to burn with, but if you're just trying to use it to burn it won't do it.
