dvd shrink disc problem

ive been using dvd shrink for about a year now & now after i backup the original dvd & put in a blank one it doesnt recognize it but keeps on saying "checking discs". i tried changing dvd brands but i still get the same result. help please!

Have your updated the firmware on your drive? What type of media are you using? This can also happen if you have a drive that only supports +r media but you're using -r or vice versa. What's the model of your drive?

To check the drive (your dvd burner) go to start>control panel>system>click on the hardware tab then device manager. Click on the + next to DVD/CD rom drive and it will give you your drive/burner info.
What the brand of blank DVD's (media) you are using?

i think the model is HL- DT- ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N
im using TDK DVD-R with 4.7GB

Do you have Nero by chance? We should check the media code of those TDK's. They have been known to use poor quality.
