ive never used dms4 but it has practicly all the features of matrix infinity and its newer so id guess dms4 would be the way to go.... sorry, its just everytime someone tells me to reccomend a chip to them they ask me what its features are or if its compatible with some game and it just gets really old

Hi vivalakev,
Can you ask your friend what version of DVD Decrypter he uses? I had tried twice yesterday and both did work, too. My thought is maybe he made his ps2 backup bootable. But without knowing what version he uses it's hard to start the research or to try it ourselves. Thanks.

i highly doubt that your file is real. there are lots of fake so called "hack" files on thoes P2P networks.
its proberly jsut some ones copy of Swapmagic, which wont work, or it could be a cracked version of HDAdvaced. then again you could have downloaded a virus/worm etc..
if there was such a file that was real, and alowed ps2 users to play games with out mod chips or swap disks,
we would have found it.
just so you know in the future, if you find some thing that sounds to good to be true on a P2P network then its proberly a fake file.

Hi,
Could you burn a ps2 game onto ur Hardrive then somehow hack it so it plays in Unmoded Ps2's?
And Also is there a way to make a PS2 disc Rewritable or somthing cuase u know there might be somthing like that on net u know just get an old game then use the "program" to delete the game so the disc is empty but writable and then burn a game that u wont onto it

LOL, some people aren't total believers and have to question things....Like me for instance.
However, if a lot of experts are saying that it can't be done, then just maybe it can't. But that never stopped me on the quest for information.
So here's the question.(hopefully an intelligent one)
What is it about how the PS2 reads a disk, that keeps it from being bootable if it's a backed up disk?
I've heard things like, "how it's pressed in the factory", and so forth, but i'm pretty sure that it's possible to introduce factors like "bad files" and get the files burnt in a certain order and such during a burn process.
However I am new to this aspect of computing so always my ears and eyes are open.

i see what you meen seadragon, and i am also one that will always try and find a nother way.
but due to the way cd/dvd writers work they cant replicate a presed disk. there are some sectors that get presed with the disk that tell the PS to boot it.
a friend of mine works in a pressing plant in england.
if you google for cd pressing, iam sure you will find how disks are presed ;)

the original ps2 discs have bad sectors that the ps2 looks for. Your burner cannot replicate these bad sectors.
