No, damn, it doesn't work!
1-I extracted the file with iso buster
2-I replaced dummy.bin with a fake dummy.bin 1kb large size...
3-cddvdgen doesn't work on my dvd-burner, then i burn these files with Nero 6.0.0.9(iso/udf dvd-rom), in the same order shown by isobuster...
The game doesn't start, violet vertical strings appear instead blues when i try to launch it...
Where are my faults??can anyone help me??
Thks..

Hello! im new in this forum and man is this a good forum or what!.Thanks for all the help guys but I tried burning it with Nero by putting the files in the order that ISO BUSTER said and no results whatsoever and it happened the same with the CDVDGEN program. If you would be so kind as to post a very detailed instruction guide for burning with Nero or cdvcgen because quite frankly im getting VERY,VERY MAD AND DESPERATE!!! (sorry about that)or if you have the shadow of rome patch that ps2ownz hosts and you have an alternate link for it I would really apreciate it if you posted it (because the original link for the patch is in the their forum and you have to have a paying e-mail provider to register in the forum). ANYWAYS thanks in advance and hope someone helps us (I know there are alot of us with the same problem) hehe well bye

Thanks man I already downloaded from there but thanks anyways!! So all I have to do is rip the original iso to the hard drive, patch it with ppfomatic and then burn the patched iso? Nothing to do or have to do with iso buster or cdvdgen? Did anyone of you guys patched a succesfull iso?

the iso size I downloaded for the PAL version was like 4.3 GB or something like that. it took like a week to get it all. Here is simple new explanation maybe much like the others.
This worked for me using dvd+r sony media burning with Nero burning rom at full speed. I have a v4 playstation using swap disc 3.3.
Ok, once you have the copied game as an iso
1)open iso using isobuster. there is a button on the top saying open image file, click it and select the iso. The right column of isobuster will have the files of interest in the correct order. Select all the files together by holding in control. Make sure you are hovering over the selected files and right click. Export to a new folder on your desktop. I asuume you have gotten this far. Sorry I dont have a iso on my computer right now, so I cant go through to make sure everything is word for word. Leave isobuster open.
2) Now open notepad and press spacebar one time in the notepad. Go to save as, and find the newfolder on the desktop. Type dummy or select the dummy file that is already there. make sure the notepad doesnt have txt extension wich is the default. Hit save. It will ask you to over-write. Hit ok.
3) Open Nero burning rom. Make sure it says some sort of dvd-rom (iso) or something. Make sure you have not select multisession. It will ask you I think anwyay. Now drag the files from the new folder on you desktop one by one to the compilation in the same order shown in iso buster. Nero will resort them once you have drug them. Dont worry about the resorting. Burn directly to disc, dont use image recorder which makes a image on your hard drive. If you are using dvd-r disc I dont know how this will work. This worked great for me, although you need to change video settings in the game.
If this doesnt work, you probably got a bad iso. Dont stress it if its not working, just get another iso.

Just so i know what to do, after i get the patch, which i assume works the same as the method used for Mercenaries, do i need to rename the ISO bufore i run the patch like you did for Mercenaries? If so what do i need to name the ISO file before i run the patch.
Thanks in advance, it will save me a bunch of disks.

I never used any patch for mercenaries. If I recall, all you had to do for that one is rebuild the iso. Just extract it with isobuster and rebuild it with cd/dvd gen (I used Nero however). But to answer your question. When burning with Nero, you dont need to name the iso. I dont use cd gen sorry. If you havn't tried the method i described, it should work. Let us know if you used a patch and it worked, if you do a different method, please let everyone know that is still having trouble.

Chrisjiu, the patch saves the step of having to manually extract the file with ISO Buster, then insert the new dummy file, then rebuild the file to a new ISO. On Mercenaries it pretty much did it all for you and was much easier for non experienced file rebuilders like myself. But i really need someone to tell me how this Shadow Of Rome patch works. Do i just copy it to the folder with my ISO file and run it?

I've tried changing the 'DUMMY' file, i've tried patching the iso, (using the CMD or COMMAND promt doesn't work it always gives me an access denied message and won't finish rebuilding the ISO) I've even tried variations on both and with re-arranging the file order, nothing works, the patch gets applied correctly, but I either get a pink border or a strange green border w/swap magig.... I've wasted about 10 discs and have pretty much lost all hope (I feel your pain iLLNATiON)

Perhaps settings in Nero were wrong.
I have a v9 PS2 and using Swap Magic 3.3.
I followed chrisjiu's instructions but did not burn the image as type DVD (iso). In Nero, I burned it as type DVD (iso/udf) instead and it worked fine. I burned it on an Imation DVD+R media.
Thanks chrisjiu! Now back to gladiator carnage! :-)
