I ISO'd my original, burned it to a Sony branded RICOHJPN DVD+R at 4x with DVD Decrypter. Load times aren't noticeably different from the original. Music is perfect, there's never any times when textures aren't properly mapped, and there's never a lag time longer than the original's when it's fetching information from the disc.

If you're getting slow load times, it may be the burn method or the burn speed, or just plain cheap media. I used to use FujiFilm branded Taiyo Yuden discs burned at 2.4x speed and stopped because they were jerky, load times were horrible, and some games would become unplayable. From there on out, I decided to go back to the first solution I ever had : Sony branded RICOHJPN that I buy from Wal-Mart. They cost me a little over a dollar per disc, but their load times are spectacular and the quality of the media is absolutely worth it. I've had more problems with bad originals than I've had with good burns on these discs. Which isn't something I can say for Maxell branded, or fujifilm branded DVD+Rs.

I burnt MC3 with DVD Decrypter at 4x and the game loads slow for me too and it seems like its gonna freeze. This takes the fun out of playing the game. Could it be that the Protocol release is bad or can some of the files be removed so that the game can load faster?

Same as PAx here. Copy to HD and runs ok using HDLoader, but no music during playing. However, you can here part of the music while changing cities of the like.

When you are playing, with some effort you can see the name of songs passing fast in the screen.

Thinking that it was a bad copy, I repeated the copy but still the same problem.

It takes 4 Gb in the HD but the data in the DVD is more than 4Gb. Does any knows if that is correct?

hi guys....anyone had this happen.....
i hired out MC3 on sunday and played it most of the day...i had around 15% of the game finished when i switched it off...later i copied the game using DVD Decrypter and the loading times as everyone else has said were rubbish....i reburned it at 1x speed onto an infiniti samurai disc and using swap magic it booted up quick as a flash.

NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM :

when i go to load the saved profile the back up game doesnt see it ( it is there on the memory card as when i put in the original it loads as normal ).

whats going on, i've never had this before ?

backup game loaded = no saved profile showing

original game loaded = saved profile available

one last thing the game plays perfect it just wont load the saved profile !

I honestly think this may have something to do with the version of your PS2s. Maybe you guys should list what version you guys are using.

As I said earlier, I DVD Decrypter'd the usual way, and burned to a RICOHJPN disc at 4x. Perfect booting, not noticeably slower than the original.

I'm doing this on a v12, with Swap Magic 3.3

Really? How's that work out? When you rebuilt, what'd you take out? What advantages are there to rebuilding perfectly working games? No one ever told me that rebuilding games made them load faster, that's totally new to me.

Could you elaborate? I find this really interesting. :)

nothing is taken out..some games have false LBA information and some have dummy fils...mnc does not have dummy files so my guess is that it has false lbs info...u kan read a bit more about it here

EASY REBUILD GUIDE! WORKS GREAT

Step 1.
Decrypt the ps2 game to your hard drive using dvd decryptor.

Step 2.
Open up Isobuster and load in the image file.

Step 3.
Hold shift and highlight all the game files and put them in a folder.

Step 4.
Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list). Drop all the game files into Nero in the same order as it is listed in Isobuster. Just keep Isobuster open as a reference when you do this. Nero will change the order of the files graphically, however they burn in the order that you dropped them in.

Step 5.
Name the image and burn it at 4x.

Step 6.
Presto, you've rebuilt and burned a PS2 game. Play it.

note:
Some games have dummy files in them.(ie. guilty gear, spider-man 2). They are used to beef up the size of the image and to copy-protect the game. Burning games with the dummy files left unchanged will result in a game that does not boot (using swap magic anyway). To remedy this annoyance follow these fun steps.

Step 1.
Use Isobuster to copy the files to a folder.

Step 2.
Create a new text file. Open it and press the space bar, then close it. This creates a byte of data in the text file.

Step 3.
Rename the text file you made to the same name as the dummy file in your folder. You can point out a dummy file if its called DUMMY.DAT, DUMMY.000, DUMMY.001 etc., GARBAGE.DAT. These files will always be in the main folder of the iso.

Step 4.
Overwrite all those dummy files with the blank ones you've created. (games generally only have 1 dummy file, but some have multiple dummy files)

Step 5.
Patch complete! Burn it.

^^^For the people who asked how to rebuild

Is there a patch or something for this DUB Edition for the HD Advance? It loads and play fine but there's no music.
