I tried to make a backup of MC3DE. The load-times are really good, there's only 1 problem. The game doesn't show any colours!! The original works perfectly!

Anyone know a solution?

RIGHT!
LISTEN
to anyone who has any problems backing up this game, then forget all the DVD decypters and the Alcohol 120%, use NERO
OPEN Nero express
click the more tab
and click save tracks
then
change the format from .NRG to and .ISO
and choose the destination
then close down express and re-open the burn image to disc option and it works everytime

How about not using Nero, Nero is BLOATWARE. Honestly, A120 + Verbatim DVD-R + burning at 1X or 2X does the trick, but that's my experience :)

Like I said, "my experience :)".

But to be honest with you, I like everything Nero before 6 came out, but Showtime is the execption to that (MUCH better than Windows Media Player).

Moron, eh? Hell if I care what you think.

im glad you dont care......cuz neither do i!
no seriously dogg, i wa only jokin bout the moron thing, just a figure of speech.
but NERO did work for me when copying this game, and DVD Decrypter didn't for some strange reason.

for some time now DVD Decrpter has been giving me a .IIO file instead of an .ISO {not all the time but sometimes), so i just use nero...it's really simple and does the job!

But seem this is a thread about midnight club 3......this game ROCKS AND DOES NOT need any special treatment when copying!
PEACE OUT YA'LL

I backedup Midnight club 3 with DVD Decrypter.
I used a TDK DVD+R 4x disc.
I burned it at 4x, the game works but the music never completley plays, it skips badly.

I didnt burn at 1x or 2.4x because i havent had any luck with that.

ANYBODY HAS ANANSER TO THE MUSIC NOT PLAYING PROPERLY

@ Oakley28: You bring so much anger to my soul, I will now rob a Pecto store! haha j/k.

My backup of MC3 didn't work though. I'm using Memorex, A120%, and a Sony burner. My guess is media and/or program. I used to use Decrypter all the time, but it seems the newer games need something else.

That's weird with the .IIO extension, I think I used to get that with games larger than 4 gigs, but I'm not sure. But if that's why, it could be the format of your HDD (FAT32 does not support single files over 4 gigs, NTFS does).

I have Nero 6, so I will give that a try with MC3. Thanks for the info.

Later Naderz!

Put original in DVD-Rom drive, blank Fuji 8X DVD+R in DVD Burner, Open up Nero, click on DVD, click on Copy Disc, then burn with 8X. Successfully backed up and now I'm playing... it works like a charm.

@life4k2 or anyone else having problems
get your hands on some verbatim -r, they have never give me any problems are probably the best cause they a bit on the expensive side, but hey they work.
and dont think that im bad mouthing DVD Decrypter cause thats a pretty damn good program, but Nero is alwyas the answer when DVD Decrypter fails.

My back up of MC3 is flawless!! I used decrypter for everything and burnt on a Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R at 2x burning speed. Works like a charm, I've been playing for about 2 weeks now and have not noticed any skipping or music failure. Taiyo Yuden is the best media in my mind!

When I burned MC3 Dub Edition, I used Sony DVD+R's with DVD Decrypter, burned at 2.4x speed and it plays fine.

: PS2 V9-10 w/ Black Fliptop
: SM3 CD & DVD USA 3.3
: DVD Decrypter @ 2.4x
: NEC ND-2500A +/- R/RW

Midnight Club 3 Dub worked in my case this way:

In my case, it worked with DVD Decrypter only.
In two steps: creating the image and then burning the image
For the blank DVD better use a brand DVD (TDK worked for me, ..)

TO CREATE IMAGE:

1 Open DVD Decrypter
2 Insert Original Game in Drive
3 Choose this drive as "Source" drive
4 Then choose your harddisc where the image should be saved
5 Go to Mode --> ISO --> Read
6 and finally, click the pic in the middle showing a DVD and a harddisc
´
wait for Decrypter to create image

TO BURN ON BLANK DVD:

1 When the image creation is finished,
2 take the original game DVD out
3 insert the blank DVD in the burner drive
4 Go to Mode --> ISO --> Write
5 now the burning window opens:
- Source: choose the harddisc where the image is burned: but be sure to choose the ".MDS" file (Dvd Decrypter makes two image files, one is ISO and one is MDS - be sure to choose the .MDS one here, you have to make "all files" visible to be able to see the .MDS file)
- Speed: better use a not-so-fast speed, in my case 2x worked fine
- if you want to be 100% certain before using a blank DVD, you can test the burning process by clicking "Test Mode" (this will 'simulate' burning, but not really burn)
- if you do not want to test, be sure that "Test Mode" is not clicked
6 finally, click on the harddisc - DVD pic to start the burning process

*Good Luck!*
