How do you figure. Changing anything to do something that it was not allowed to do from factory with out copyright owners permission is illegal. Its not illegal to intercept radio waves or sattelite signal, however it is illegal to take a sattelite receiver and mod it to accept those signals free of charge not because they are directtv or someone else signals but because you have modified someone elses box to do it. You can build your own box completely with out anyone elses technology and intercept signals all day long. Now if you try to mass produce and sell it, then thats a different story.

If you really want to hit where it hurts, have your bank report to their
"chargeback department".

I just called my bank to tell them about my fraudulent transaction with gamedevilonline.com. They're going to have an investigator look into the issue. The process takes 3-10 business days until you receive a response and it comes in the mail.

I suggest everyone else do the same. It was very easy.
The only info you really need is:
Date that you ordered the product
Date that the transaction appeared on your bank statement
Amount of the transaction

Take a look at this thread:

Interestingly enough, here's a reply from Gamedevil to another unsatisfied customer:

There's a posting with an email reply from GameDevil:

"This is the last email where he promised a refund and admitted that he sent nothing. No refund as yet.

All I want to say is I am trying to play it straight going forward. Yes I actually would send you consoles pre-pay after this refund goes through. I have no reason not to trust you. I'm desperate to save some face and embarrassed as hell that the money wasn't here today as expected.

I know you've been told a lot of things. All I can say, as I believe I said before, is I am so backed up on individual orders right now I kept having to move the consoles to the people who were in a position to do me the most damage either through chargeback or otherwise. In short, you gave me enough rope to hang myself and that is what I did. At no point have I been resting on my laurels. At any rate I look forward to telling you the wire has been done and we put this behind us."

Yeah that's the way you do it. Call your credit card company. Personally I had no problem with gamedevil. But then again I had no problem with modchipman and I've heard the same things there. Most of these places are run by one or two guys and are pretty flakey anyways.

As far as modding goes I don't think there is any safe way to get mods other than have somebody you know locally do it. A lot of like electronic repair guys will do it.

Oh and, this stuff is illegal in the states so don't be an idiot and go to the FBI. As somebody who is in the Gamedevil database, I'd rather not have my name and address in their hands.

I have a buddy in CA who is studying entertainment law and one of his professors apparently works for the ESA and said that they are planning end user law suits like the RIAA did against file sharers. They definitely have the authority to send local authorities to your house to confiscate the hardware/software.

And don't kid yourself about mods being legal. Ask Pandora's box, or ISO News...
