Quote:THis problem isn't a media one. I had it myself, and I was using Maxell. You're going to have to reburn them from an original. I ended up reformatting my pc. Not suggesting this as an answer, just what I did. I assume you were using AnyDVD in conjunction with shrink? I believe my problem was a bad AnyDVD program. Basically what happens is after you burn it, it becomes reencrypted and can't be broken. Or something to that effect. Just my thoughts on it.
everything you just said is totally incorrect. It is withouta doubt a media problem or bad burning hardware/software.
"after you burn it it becomes reencrypted?"
Stop it, this is impossible. the person burned to a disk that was subsiquently damaged or did not burn properly. that is the only problem.
Please refrain from meaningless advice.
The proper advice is to ask what a k-probe of the burnd disk giving the problem shows.
Maybe reencrypted isn't the proper terminology. But It isn't a media problem. If you haven't had this problem, I suggest you stop a second and listen. I was using Maxell's. They would burn fine, and play fine. But when I went to copy my copy. I would get the crc error. I've since reformatted, changed the anydvd version I was using. And now, with the same Maxells from the same pack, shrink is working fine.
After reading through this thread I see that everyone got off the initial topic of......the movie Racing stripes I tried to use the program and at 57% of the analysing process it slows down and completely stops and then tell me there is a failure in dirve D: and that there is a Data error (cyclic redundancy problem). I am having to exact same problem. Any suggestions???? I am using my copy of Racing Stripes. I have used DVD XCopy, DVD Decrypter, and Shrink all with no luck. Ah and I also had AnyDVD running in the back ground.
@kyepen, the answers are already in this thread. The reason posts such as this go offtopic so easily as there are no funny protections in most films that people start threads about. That in itself usually starts a war of words to the tune of 'yes there is a funny protection', unfortunately followed by ppl like me who know full well there's no funny obscure new protection. Not yet anyway other than the few films that we know about. Plus some kid in the thread got banned for winding everyone up..
Try using just Decrypter on it's own (ie turn off AnyDVD, that's always worth a try, it worked for someone i suggested it to the other day, can't remember when it was). Failing that try DVD43 in the backgorund (not with AnyDVD in the background either).
It's always possible you have a dodgy disc but there is most definitely no funny protection here so you need to go thru this thread and check the replies
Thanks Creaky. I have tried all that. I didn't even have AnyDVD until I started having this problem. Maybe there are some bad originals of the movie out there. Quite a few people are having this problem though. Thanks for the help.
