I use Fujifilm +r/-r 8x, Verbatim -r 8x, nexxtech +r 8x, and Memorex +r 16x. As for programs Roxio 7 & 8, dvd dycrpter, sonic, cloncd, and one click.
I don't think it's the disk becuase if i play my original version of need for speed most wanted pause it and swap it with the backup it works fine. It just getting the ps2 to get it started. I'll start up swap magic 3.6 and then when it says load program I swap the Swap magic with the backup. But for some odd reason when i press x it spins and then not a valid ps2 disk pops up. I don't no wut wrong.

Hopefully this will help some people
My suggestion for burning the games is to get a Memorex DVD-R. I know some people may think it sucks, but it has never failed me. I would also suggest DVD Decryptor mainly because I think it's much more reliable than Alchoal 120%, Just set the write speed at max and the game will burn perfectly (DVD-decrpytor always sets it at a good write speed, it will burn it perfectly). Then, make sure you are using the slide tool correctly, remember, pushing the tray back inside won't cause the game to be read. You must put the tray back inside with the card.
So once again simple steps
1. Buy DVD-R Memorex 16x
2. Burn via Dvd Decryptor setting the write speed at max
3. Use slide tool correctly, make sure the tray is full inside (a good way to tell if it is full inside is to see if you can't push it back out with your hands)
I always found the slide tool easy to use, and best of all, it doesn't void your warrenty

You're entitled to your opinion, but encouraging newbies to use Memosux isn't helping anybody. In over 300 burns, I've never gotten a coaster from Taiyo Yudens. The best Memorex will code out to is Ritek, more likely you'll end up with CMC Magnetics, which is awful. The brand of DVD means very little, the Media ID is what's important. Newbs reading this use 4x or 8x Taiyo Yuden or Verbatims for PS2 backups. Alcohol 120% is very reliable, if used properly. I've backed up hundreds of games with it, never had any issues.

Woah ok man chill chill. I never had any troubles with Memorex either. I haven't burned over 300 times (dude that's crazy)! And I never said Alcochal 120% was bad. I just like DVD Decryptor because it's real simple, nothing fancy just down to the bone. I've never seen a Verbatim or a Yuden before, however, memorex (or memosux as you referred to it) is very common. But like I said, I haven't burned 300 times, but with every burn I've done, with memorex + dvd decryptor it always burned correctly. Even when I was a super noob it worked perfectly. Like you said, you are entitled to your opinon, however, you telling me what to say isn't helping anybody else on this board nor will it convince me to change my opinon. But ya seriosuly chill man, and btw, I know you are a pro on this forum and I won't argue with you.

I don't want to argue with you, just making sure you know where I stand on good media. Using good media is imperative to making successful backups. I don't post here much anymore, because 80% of the problems with boot failures are because of cheap media, and I just got sick of the repetitive questions. All the answers to most probs are in the stickies, people just don't want to search.

With that I won't argue, "spoken like a true prodigy" is all I have to say. I totally agree most problems come from bad media which is why I just posted up whatworks for me, but ya, most likely Verbatim and Yuden is the best choice, but like I said I've never seen em before in my life. Because of that I offered info on what works for me

Its referring to the Magic Keys Pro V3, which is the slimline equivalent of the slidecard. You need to install the keys in certain places under the slims lid to block the sensors that detect if the tray/lid is open.
Swap Magic the disc is compatible with your system but you still need the Magic Keys to successfully do the swap trick, When you install the Magic Keys you wont get that red screen, providing you use good quality media your games should load.
