when you backup games the best nedia to use is DVD-R Not +R
the only games i had problems with are the one that needed to be pathed like fifa street hitman 3 splinter cell Chaos Theory so you will elliminate a lot of problems if you use -R media ps2 has an issue with some +R media not all of them.

I also have madden 06 not sure about everyone else, but this game is pretty good not sure what the fuss is about.I know the quarterback view can be irritating now and then, but still it isn't that much different from the previous versions I say.I haven't backed it up yet to be honest, but will back it up later on today. If you want to play online with PS2 backups you will have to patch the DNAS.It has to be done, because when you backup a game it doesn't burn all of the hidden code that is stored on the original disc. You can play online once you have patched a good DNAS code into the backup. If you use a false DNAS code you will end up getting banned. To save you alot of trouble in the long run,it is best to play from the originals online.Patches can be applied to the games to make them boot better, but they take some time to make.I wouldn't mind contributing and making some patches to help out,if you can give me some names of a couple games that need to be patched I could look at it for you all.I am also thinking of supplying a guide on making patches,it looks a little complicated at the moment so I have to touch it up and explain it alot better.

Prdo.... yes, it's true that DVD-R tends to yield better results, but it actually depends on the PS2 itself. Mine runs like crap on -r disks, when I switched over to +r disks, all my problems went away. I have a V7 PS2 and for whatever reason, it prefers +r. People shouldn't stick to just one type, experiment with both -r and +r to find which yields better results for you. MOST will find -r works for them, but my PS2 likes to be different.

The best software to make backups is the Clonecd www.slysoft.com
If the game does not require patching.

Yes that?s true my ps2 plays DVD+R Movies but no games at all I have one of the
First playstation2 that came out I think it is the V2 so it does depend on your
Console too.

Madden NFL 2006 (SLUS_212.13)
(Size = 7,788,432 bytes)
Disc ID = XX XX 06 30 64 / XX XX 0E 30 2C
Which side of the disc ID do I use to patch for online play? Left or right or both?

It works without patch, you just have to make sure you burn the .mds file when you create your ISO file with DvdDecrypter.I'm not sure about FIFA05 okc112,but I can look into for it you if you want me to.Sonic RecordNow works like a charm for making backups tested and works, just gotta do a 1:1 copy.I think the best software that works like a charm is Nero, but that is just a personal opinion.

I made a backup copy using Taiyo Uden disc and it will not play at all. I get a red bar around the screen with my SwapMagic 2.0 which tells me it is a frisbee. I burned at 2x which I have done before with no problems but my guess is the media is just not compatible with the PS2. I might try Sony's media, it has worked for me in the past.
