ok guys this worked for me...and my game used to lag..so try it and see what happens..you need to programs isobuster and Nero burning rom 6
1. download isobuster ( u can find it on isobuster.com )
2. on isobuster go to file - open image - and click on ur madden06.iso
3. highlight all the files and right click extract objects
4. make a new folder called madden06 on desktop and place them there
5. now open Nero and go to make new compilation and click on dvd rom (udf/iso)and click new
6. right click and go to add files. and go to your madden06 folder and make SURE YOU ADD THEM IN THIS ORDER
1. system.cnf
2. slus_212.13
3. dnas280.img
4. system
5. online
6. netgui
7. game
8. eacn
9. burnout
10. cnf
11. data
that way data folder wil be the first one on the list but the last folder added.. the file size should stil be around 3.2 g...then go to burn and use write speed at 2x that way its not to fast or not to slow..after burning the game...if ur using swap magic put that in and load madden06 and press x and it should work without lagging..or if u have a mod chip do whatever u do for that...

okay great..i'll try it. also the way you have the files listed that is the exact opposite of my order.

when i add them in that order using Nero. Nero just places them in alphabetic order. should i change the name of the files i.e. put "1Data" so that data will be the first file? Or is there something on the list options which will keep it from arranging the files alphabetically?

you dont need to worry bout that.when you place them in Nero they appear that way but will burnt in order in which you placed them.i was refering to isobuster when i open it up in isobuster is in in reverse order compared to his..weird

does it work and just have bad audio or does it not work at all woobong? if we can get loris to explain a little more or grant to tell us where he found those dummy files.

the lag problem is still there. i had my hopes up because the load screen went well. i will keep looking and trying things though and hopefully someone can help us find the answer.

youre awesome loris..i did what you said and madden works perfect now!! no more lagging with in game music or stutters...great job..i wonder if this would work with tiger woods 05 as well

blue oval, what could i have done wrong? my lowest speed is 2.4x using Nero and a tdk DVD+R.

hmm you use +R's? i have heard that they do not work so well. Have had success with them before? I would try to do it again with a -D if possible and i also burnt mine at 4x cause thats the lowest speed my sony dvd-r's will burn at. lemme know how it goes when you try different media. We'll get it resolved..

ea games are the only ones that i have problems with when using dvd+r's.
i tried everything. oh well i give up. i guess i will buy it after wasting over 10+ dvds

i dont think i can explain any better then i did... it worked for blue ...use a DVD-R cause +r r not as good for a ps2 espeically a older version. i dont know why ur Nero is placin them in alphabetical order...i use Nero version 6. there are no dummy files in the game. it just has to be reburned that is where the isobuster comes in place..and make sure you select the udf/iso in Nero..

Please Help.
I have a version 2 PS2, using the knife techniques to play backups with either SM 2.0 or the Gameshark/DMC swap. I have been able to play all previously burned games for the past 3 years, but now with madden 06, i am unable to load the game. I am burning on ritek media using dvd decryptor.
When I load with SM i get the red outline. and with gameshark, it's just a black screen.
Any ideas as to what i should try next?
Also wanted to thank everyone for all prior posts, this is my first post, but i have been reading for the past 2 years to get ideas from here.

i dunno for sure but it sounds like you are using old outdated stuff.old ps2 and old swap magic version.that could be your problem.

I got Madden 2004 for PC. Can anyone tell where or how I can download a updated roster for it? So I wont go creating every new character. PLeaseee hellp meeeeh!!!

I burned
NCAA 2006 and MADDEN 2006 on FUJI DVD+R both work flawlessly...
used DVD Decrypter set at 1X
had a little bit of trouble with NCAA lagging but I burned it on
a DVD-R originally... when I burned it onto a DVD+R it worked great.

i got madden to work!!!
i had to use a DVD-R. that was the problem. i guess that is the deal with version 1 ps2's for ea games.

thats great that what i did helped. my madden doesnt lag anymore but sometimes it kinda does..like the other nite i was playing it for hours and it was fine and today it kinda was slow...hmm..might be my playstation its a version 2 or 3 i think pretty old..i have a new laser but i dunno..ill try a diff dvd...if anyone knows anything else that would work 100% let me know

woobong, This is a little late since i see you got a working one. No problems here version 1 PS2, DVD+R media, DVD Decrypter to rip, WINDIP to patch for online, DVD Decrypter to burn at 2.4x no problem
Gee all these things that suposedly dont work, no rebuild necessary, no DVD-R media to work on my v1 PS2 or -R media for EA games go figure, this is your typical ISO read - ISO write Decrypter backup nothing special

i called sony and they replaced my laser for free like a year ago..but i dunno..i guess it has to come down to the playstation cause i have swap magic 3.3 and 2.0 dvd and stil kinda slows down a little bit.. its playable but would like to be 100% ..i dunno if there is files i can take out from the iso if anyone knows

WOW i dint even notice this untill today...when i play madden with a friend it lags like crazy..wow horrible..when i play with computer its ok but with another person i cant even play the game..someone please fix something
