Thanks, if you are good with Nero, I have a few questions and am hoping that you can put me in the right direction. My disc I bought on Amazon, and it didn't come with an instruction manual. I am going to start learning how to use this, but I have something I need to do before I have the time to spend learning all the details of this software:

I need to take a short excerpt from a DVD and convert it to a file that Microsoft Powerpoint can input and use. If you could tell me how to do that, I'd appreciate it.

Things I want to do that I have more time to spend with are making home movies and burning them to DVD and making backup copies of CDs.
