PPX I think you would be fine with a flip top. The only hang up I have it with it is that sometimes I have to press the Cd down slightly in the back to get it level, so that the PS2 laser reads it okay. That is a minor problem at worst, and it beats the hell outta using the damn slide card all the time. It requires some minor assembly. You do have to open the PS2 (voiding the warranty) to install it. The whole process took me about a half hour. I love the results. You can open it up and insert the Breaker Pro before you turn the PS2 on, eliminating the need to insert it and press reset to boot. I highly reccomend it over using the slide card. Here is a guide for installing it: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm If you feel comfortable with this (it's simple, the main bugaboo is to make sure you don't pinch or sever the eject cable) then you can pick one up for $20. Also I don't know if it is from using the slide card, but I noticed that my disc tray was slightly off center after installing the flip top lid. I have a V.4 PS2 thats 4 years old, so I am not positive that it wasn't already off center just something to consider. I have read posts on other sites that using the slide card too much can damage your eject motor (nothing concrete so anyone currently using the slide card don't fret, just something to be aware of). Make sure you find out which version PS2 you have and match the flip top accordingly. Also in the link I provided the steps regarding unattaching the port covers and screw from the retainer plate and reattaching them to the flip top lid were unecessary as my flip top came with those built in already. I got it last week and was able to install it within a hour (yeah I'm not your typical "handy man", the memory cards slot area did cause some kind of confusion, a step I realize didn't need to be done. Other than that I very satisfied with the result, my PS2 looks great, I can finally play imported games and I sure as hell don't have to pull my hair out with that damn slide card.

Can you stand your ps2 upright with the flip top or does it have to be flat down. I would like to have my Ps2 vertical.
