firs of all I do have gta san andreas onmy pc but my pc is 2 slow lol. I think I have good news for myself my "broken ps2" might not be permanantly broken! Because I looked at the chip and th wires and one of them is missing! and when even one wire is not connected rite the console just "shuts down" so if the chipper/mod chip installer can fix this lil problum or take out the darn chip da ps2 will work!What do you think?

well couse he missed this 1 wiere and now half of all da wires are screwed up and he put hot glue to hold the wires in plase so its not messy and its hard 2 c wich 1 is wich and I am afried to mess it up. Tommorow I will take it to him see what he will do. What emulator do you use 4 ur ps2 couse I cant find 1. And where 2 downlode?Thanks lol :)

OHH MY F-N GOD!!!!!!! y r those stupid emulators not working man whats my pc's problum!That damn computer sead to me that windows needs to know where that file came from and such. What do I need to dofix this problum!

Yeah Stefan like I said you may just not have the computer that can handle PS2 emulation. You need a pretty powerful PC and it doesn't sound like you have one. My POS Dell sure as hell wouldn't run them too well. I have a gig of memory, but no 3D graphics card or processor speed. That message probably means that when you go to open the emulator Windows says something like "Windows does not recognize this publisher it may not be safe to run content from unknown publishers" or s/t like that. If that's the case just ignore it and click run. That message is to keep mentally challenged people from getting viruses or forms of malware. As long as you know where you got the file from, it's probably fine. I forgot that I don't have a DVD-ROM drive on my PC, so I won't be able to run my PS2 originals on my PC. The only way I can run them is to download the iso file, mount it on a virtual drive and see how well it runs on the emulator. That is a huge waste of hard drive space and time, so you'll just have to make do. Be patient and you'll figure out the emulator sooner or later.

OK Tokijin so the emulator is not a salution thats 1/3 My chipped ps2 makes 2/3 And unless I am A freaky gamer and buy a ps2 (slim its the only 1 I can chose from lol) That is a posible 3/3. But I saw the slim ps2 for $145 Canadian rather then $180 at wal*mart as a celabratin of some kind and the offer is gana last something like a month. But if I get a new ps2 I need a chip because this F*****g problum started becouse I whanted a stupid mod chip!And its a shame to put a pice of **** (magic 2) in a brand new ps2 so I I need 2 buy a $90 matrix chip. And if something f***s up in there then I am down the drain ohhh put it at about $550 with both ps2s and do you think thats worth it tell me?Or should I wait like 100,000,000 years for the ps3 and screw that up ohh bam! thats like $1300 now because of one single F*****g MOD CHIP!So I can save some $$$ and not buy my originals again! THANKS but I have nothing else to do but to find a salution! WHat do you think about my lil speach Tokijin?

Calm down Stefan. Really it depends on whether or not you want to play PS2 games, PSX games, or next gen games. That also depends on your preference in games. I prefer RPG's, so there's no way in hell I'd get a PS3. The golden age of RPG's ended with the PSX (damn you FF7). If you like sports or action games then it might be worthwhile. I've been reading up on modchips and the way to go is either the Matrix Infinity or the DMS 4 pro or lite. I personally am leaning towards the DMS 4 lite. Again this depends on your preference, do you want to play imports and backups, or do you want to play domestic originals? I personally play a lot of games that were never released in the US, so a modchip seems a better solution than disc swapping. If you don't care about backups or imports, than why do you care about a modchip? If you do than you may want to consider getting a modchip, Swap Magic, or HD loader. If you do decide to get a modchip, this time get a professional to do it and save yourself the time and effort of cleaning up a sloppy installation. If you don't want a modchip than Swap Magic and Breaker Pro are good solutions. "Disk Swapping" is simple and inexpensive. You have to use a slide card or flip top with the swapping method. There are several options. Right now I have a flip top with Breaker Pro. It works great for my PSX backups. I am considering getting a modchip because I wanna play thru several PSX games that require a disc change in mid game and aren't gonna fly with Disc Swapping. That and I wanna backup my PS2 originals. So think about it, do some research and decide for yourself. Good Luck!

Hey I have a quick question for you modchip gurus: I have a v.4 PS2 with a flip top and am considering getting her chipped with a DMS 4 Lite. Is there any reason a flip top wouldn't work with a DMS 4 Lite?

Holy C*** you made alot of sense I dont need a ps2 I like rpg's or "MMORPG" (try runescape its free) the only sports game on the ps2 I like is fifa street.My favorite game is the GRAND THEFT AUTO games.AND if I got a mod chip I would play like 4-5 games so hell ya man I dont need it as much!for your question I will have an answer to it tomorrow ohh and the guy that installed the mod chip knows a lil more then me but he is mostly a computer guy and a good salderer lol.

I think that the mod chip will work because it needs to be insalled close to the motherboard and its not gona be in the way if enything. But if you already have a flip top you dont need a chip. But I am not sure if flip tops need your orginal copies to play the backups lol and who needs that. In other words the mod chip if INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!! Will work. can I get your scph- number located at the back of the ps2 my number is scph-39001 and there are like 10 diferent numbers mine is one of them I want you to tell me that because I need to see if the mod chip is gona work on your model not all mod chips work.

Yes I have a v.4 PS2. I know that the DMS 4 lite is compatible with all versions of PS2, so that's not a concern. Just curious cuz I couldn't find an answer for it in the DMS forums. That most likely means there aren't any compatibility issues (I think members on this site have posted they have chipped PS2's and flip tops), but I just wanted to be sure. Any one who can give me a definitive answer, your input would be welcome. Thank you.

well a chip works on the motherboard and a flip top works with the disk so I am almost Definitely shure that the mod chip will work as is the flip top. If thats what your trying to ask me becuse I am not shure how the flip top swaping works exacly.

Ohhh GOD Ohhh GOD I saw the 3 mistakes made wile that guy was installing the mod chip. It?s easy to fix just 2-3 wires in the wrong place! Cross you fingers everybody tomorrow shall be the grate discovery my GOD please! Crap I have an appointment it will take some time guys but in the next 1-2 I will be finished.

@ Tokijin : that flitop should work just fine with a DMS chip.
I would advise you to just get the Pro version of the chip though, for the obvious reasons :)

Yeah I don't know squat about making homebrew's or booting .elf files off the chip or my memory card, but I have been thinking about looking into it and what the hell it's only an extra $10 or so. I was looking in the DMS3.com forums and the name DavBere popped up over and over again as a quality modchip installer from teammodders.com. I'm not asking you to advertise, I just wanted some feedback from people who have had this guy do some work for them. Is he as good as people say or is there somewhere else I should be looking? I am a full time student and definitely don't have the money to get a new PS2 if something goes awry. Thanks for your help.

its me again my f***d up ps2 still will not work FU my PS2! The last thing that I will do is just take the mod chip out of there and see what happens HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn this im just gona get a second hand fat ps2 or get a $160 slip/skinny ps2 lol. OR nothing at all hahahahaha couse I just DO NOT FEAL LIKE RISKING another ps2 damn sony damn micresoft damn nintendo damn all thus hell created!!! in other words games make me sick now I have nothing more to say thank you!!!!!!!

after I take out the mod chip and it dousent work I will just save up for the ps3 when it comes out in like 100,000,000 years. Enybody need help with mod chips that will not work or a problumas come to me lol.I will do what I can u live you learn. ohh and guys post stuff here so we reach 100 messeges lol.

cool I am gona get the top name! ok I have bad bad bad.. news my ps2 has been Officially announced broken until further notice. if you think you can help here is the curent problum every thing works except when I turn it on/restart the screen blinks and nothing shows up if you know anybody with that problem please post some answers! hey guys if I had an animal comuter/fastest best comuter could I play emulations of games or are the emulators just crap. e.g. will ps2 or those sistums be like the originals. Becouse I I need 2 buy a good computer and I think will becouse I get 2 in 1 a good computer and a new sistum with no mod chip to install and burned games so you actualy save money lol. How much would you pay for a ps2,ps3,xbox,xbox 360,game qube,nintendo revolution,pc,gba and not to mention all the games you need to buy! So if you have an emulator or you know someone whoe douse have an emulator or know that they actualy work please write it upif you can. THANX

Like I said Stefan with a powerful PC you could easily play PS2 games. A high end PC with a 1 gig of DDR2 PC5300 memory, a Geforce 6800 3D graphics card, AMD 3500+, and a SATA 10,000 RPM hard drive would run rings around any console system past, present, or future. Obviously it would run PS2 games fine. Such a system would cost you $2000 dollars or so. If you really wanna play PS2 games that bad and have the money, it'd be a lot cheaper to get a new PS2.

ya man I know a ps2 would be better but when the ps3 comes out the ps2 is gona be nothing and I dont wana pay another penny 4 a game that is worth 0.40 in disk value make it $2 tops with the cover and stuff. I amn not made of money and pations I will not buy another ps2 or ps3 just so I can screw that up somehow with the f*****g mod chip.
And I am not made of cash or debit or visa or money at all we all know y people use mod chips am I correct? I am not a cheap basterd I am a smart basterd I dont wana pay the man 4 stuff thats worth nothing.and If I uprade a pc 4 $600(just as much as a ps3 posibly) not only will I play next gen but I will play psp emulators the second psp handheld the do you know how much money that would be in games or mod chips and its gona take day and knight to install all those mod chips amd if the emulators were perfect then I am gona get an emulator 4 my pc that I am gona upgrade and play games!And thats jus games I play like 4-5 a with a good game sometimes not even 1 minit.THAT IS 1 WAY TO SCREW THE SISTUM UP NOBADY CAN TELL ME WHAT TO BUY WHAT TO PLAY HOW MUCH IT IS I MAKE THE DESISIONS AND I THING THAT IT SHOULD BR FREE!
