Thanks to everyone with replying/helping me this quickly.

I still don't know/understand EXACTLY the problem I was having with VobBlanker, but on a whim I just reinstalled it and voila, perfect copy. (I have used it before and it worked fine)

One other thing, not a problem just would like some opinions.
I downloaded AnyDVD (free trial). It's good n' all, but is it something really worth purchasing? I am profecient with PgcEdit and except for the amount of time it saves and some other featers it looks as though AnyDVD does about the same thing. I realize that to most if not all, those two reasons would be more than enough, but not to the fool who is eternally broke (ie. me).

Thanks again

I disagree with sesko, while DVD43 does work almost as good as AnyDVD, it is not updated very often and may take a while to work with the newer encryptions. Slysoft (the company that makes the AnyDVD software) is always updating AnyDVD. As soon as a new type of protection comes out, AnyDVD is updated to handle it. In my opinion, AnyDVD is well worth the money.

I personally think it's worth twice the cost. It has proven to be a valuable asset to me. IMHO

Ditto 9mmruger1! AnyDVD-NeroRecode2. Life time upgrades with AnyDVD. Spend the money and have no more "problem" movies.

@crozzman

You're welcome, glad I could help. Yep, VobBlanker has never let me down. Now that you can enjoy that awesome backup of yours, pass it on to your friends and or family members.

Happy burning and Happy Holidays!!!!

alkohol,

What does #2 really mean (A) "input = source" (B) "output = destination" I think this is where the problem is for me, maybe not!

2) open up VobBlanker: (A) set your "input = source" this is your files that was ripped by DVD Decrypter earlier. (B) set your "output = destination"<-- browse to your hard drive and look for NEW_BROTHERS GRIMM, VIDEO_TS, click Open/OK

Everyone could save themselves a lot of trouble by purchasing AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I bought both in a bundle for $56.00. These programs are flawless. I just backed up and watched The Brother's Grimm - it worked perfectly. AnyDVD programmers are likely to stay 1 step ahead of any copy protection scheme (my opinion).

@poplau

PgcEdit is another very useful tool/program that runs with PSL Plugin, with both PgcEdit and PSL Plugin, you can rip any dvds (even new release) with DVD Decrypter using the help from PSL Plugins and PgcEdit. If for some reasons, I can not rip any movie's at all, then I'll go with that route (I have the guide lock and safe on my system). Here is a link to PgcEdit and PSL Plugin http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56078

To make a long story short, once you rip a movie through DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F and or DVDFab Decrypter, and if you run it through PgcEdit, PgcEdit and PSL Plugin are usually able to tell you which "VTS, or Cell" is possibly/suspicous of having a bad encrypted sectors.

Hope this help you a little. By the way, I did reply back to you on my "shoutbox".

Happy burning and Merry Christmas to all!!!! Yeah, PgcEdit with PSL Plugin and VobBlanker are extremely useful. I highly recommend anyone to try and use it. The more you use it, you'll probably don't even need AnyDVD, DVD43, DVDIdle Pro, DVD Region + CSS Free, etc.

I've gotten to rip it successfully with menus and all.

1. Enable ANYDVD
2. Make image with ALCOHOL120%
3. Mount Image
4. Rip with DVDSHRINK...AnyDVD can be disabled at this stage if you wish.

Hi all,

I just backed up Brothers Grimm using DVDD for main movie rip then Shrink and finally burn with DVDD. I did not encounter any of the problems mentioned on this thread. Things went as smooth as any other successful backup. I have not yet watched it so there might be a surprise yet but I will report back.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to backup a copy of Grimm, I have followed alkohols instructions but no use still can't get it, I have one question since I am new and that is where I may be going wrong in the instructions #2 open up VobBlanker (A) set your "input = source" this is your files that was ripped by DVD Decrypter earlier (Where do I find these files) I have tried after using Decrypter but no luck, wazzzzzzzzzzzzzup!
Please Help ME! I am a rookie!

I would like to give 'buckscrap' an answer but I'm not sure what the problem is.. You have to know how to make folders and where to put the files you have decrypted. Go to search and find all the stuff you have added to you computer in the day you did whatever you just did. Search 12/25/05 to 12/25/05 and see what you come up with. It is really going to be hard to answer this if we don't have faith in what you might understand. (Trust me - I've been there) Or maybe I don't understand your problem - -

Everyone, the tutorials posted here to use VobBlanker are straightforward, but I get the following error at the 34% mark:

"Error reading input VOB: unsynchonized"

I've ripped Brothers Grimm just as I always rip everything with DVD Decrypter, I didn't change anything there. And I followed the directions given...I don't know why I seem to be so snakebit on this one.
