PSP Eur ver 2.5 - how to play games with Memory Stick?

I'm having trouble updating it..I go through the steps and when i get to step 12 it says go to game and click update i click update and it says "The system software on ur psp system is version 2.00 There is no need to update". Then the only option is back. If anyone could help would be useful.

Fanjita has again accomplished the unexpected - now releasing Tetris v2.0 - the first PSP homebrew game for firmware versions 2.01, 2.50 and now 2.60!
Besides 2.60 firmware support, two other additions have been made to Tetris v2.0:
Added completed line counter
Speed increases over time, you should notice it after ~ 100 lines

Ummm....Paul2004, I think we DO need homebrew on v2.6 because later games for the psp WILL require HIGHER firmware, such as certain online games that automatically update the PSP for you, and there is nothing you can do about it!!! And plus, there are more features to v2.6 anyways. soooo....... GO FANJITA!!!! Keep on the good work!!!

personally i want custom software that can play all new games by changing filmware version inside the custom software and add all the addons
i heard someone was working on something like this but no updates on it

does any1 have any idea when u will b abel 2 get a down grader 4 2.50? i just got sum game 2 fine i had 2.50. guted!!!!!!

You heard correctly. I've been spending (almost literally) all day just trying to get an ISO of Rockman X : Irregular Hunter to work on my PSP 1.5
Using a 2.5 emulator doesn't work, nor does the 2.5 emulation on UMDEmulator. =( At this point the only option really is to get 2.5 or 2.6, which has me hoping the PSPDev guys get there soon... T_T
It sucks. I loaded the ISO for the UMD and could watch the little movie that plays when you hover over "UMD". I want it all the more now. ,___,

Sorry man. But until we get homebrews on 2.5 or 2.6, i don't think it's physically possible. =( There's nothing (as far as i'm aware) that can change the version number of the psp as high as 2.5, and for that matter it may be using the new engine that the 2.5 supposedly has. (Graphics wise) Even then, it'd be impossible to play without the real firmware.

Huh? Isn't firmware update is just to update the psp's security(to kill homebrews) and just add some network functionality?
Does it upgrade PSP's graphical performance? I don't think so... ...

I don't know for absolute fact, but i have HEARD that 2.5 does indeed include a new means of graphics programming. New instructions or drivers or something. in any case, it would certainly make the games a lot more dependent (and thus uncrackable, like Irregular hunter)

Is there any ability to play the games that require ver.2.00 on a 1.5?
and .. if there is so.. tell me how please
cause i got some legal games. that need ver. 2.0 although i need to downgrade to 1,5 for free games...
