@dansage... WELCOME!! Once you downloaded the ISO file the ony thing you need to do is to check if inside it there is a PSP_GAME folder and a UMD_DATA.BIN file. If the iso has both of these files you just have to put it into the ISO folder in ther root directory of your PSP. What I do recomend is that you create a folder in your hard disk called "PSP" and save your ISOS there and then eliminate the zipped folder.

Good luck

PS: NO PROBLEM!! :)

Everything works fine for me on v.08c sept when i try to load GTA then it black screens and shuts down though if i do a system menu boot it shows in the umd spot so i believe its loading at least. Could it be that it requires firmware 2+? If so how would i go about bypassing that?

@Joker22... GTA requires a Freame wear which is higher than 2.00. Im sorry but I think there is no way to play GTA on 1.5. Hope some day there will.

Good luck

Thanks m8.

When i extract the iso into a desktop folder, i have a psp_game folder, and a umd data icon, (1kb)in the psp_game folder i have 2 further folders, sysdir and usrdir. so all i do is drop the psp_game folder and umd_data icon into the ISO folder ive created in my psp through umd emulator?

thanks in advance.

Just another quick one, sorry!

as the only way i found the psp game folder and umd data folder was by unpacking the iso, do i need to unpack it before i put it to the psp, or can i just drop the complete iso file? (in my case the iso file is shown as a roxio cd file or something like that, approx 500mb)

@GR13 - Tryed what you told me.

On the final step, loading the DevHook, i get to choose UMD Disc and all the ISO's from the /ISO Folder. First i tryed loading UMD Disk and the screen went black. Then i tryed loading the ISO again with Devhook and VOILÁ :D It worked. I'm trully thankfull :D (let's score some goals)

@dansage - if you're trying to play an ISO game downloaded from the net, first of all you'll need to check for your Firmware, that has to be 1.50. Then you'll need UMD Emulator 0.8C installed on your PSP.

After that, just copy the ISO game (no unpack, no changes, no shit at all done to the file) to your Storage Card in root:/ISO folder. Then just run UMD Emulator 0.8C and alter the configs at your choise or read in this topic, how and what to change.

Then just click cross on the selected ISO.

cyroz,

Thank m8, Yes i have 1.5, yes i have emulator v.08c on my psp. Cool so no need to unpack, just drop the iso into the iso folder and away i go! Do i need a umd in the drive for this to work?

Cheers

@dansage

Lool, no no no :D

So you have Firmware 1.50 (first step concluded)

Do not, i repeat DO NOT extract the ISO not on your PC nor on your PSP. Just copy it to the PSP.

For example, you have this file Wipeout Pure [EUR].iso on your C:\

Connect your PSP to your PC through USB then browse your PSP. you have there a PSP folder, possibly an mp_root folder. Then, if you have UMD Emulator installed and read the readme, you should have created an ISO folder on the root of your PSP, so you'll have on the root a folder PSP, a folder ISO, and some more if you've created.

Then, go to C:\ and select Wipeout Pure [EUR].iso and press CTRL+C to copy the file and go to your PSP open ISO folder then press CTRL+V to paste it into it.

No extract is needed. Just copy.

Then after this is done, disconnect your PSP from the USB and run UMD Emulator (any UMD is needed on the UMD Drive)

cyrozo,

thanks for your help. the file i downloaded was a .rar file. when i find the iso file, which is in the ISO file of the .rar file, the extension.iso is not visable, just an icon next it telling me that it will open with roxio. (the icon picture is a folder with a cd on it, this is the icon for roxio which i use.) do i just copy this file directly from the .rar file, to the created iso file on the psp?

thanks.

@dansage

So you've downloaded a game zipped in .RAR (that's normal, it consideraly reduces size) so, you take out the .rar, .r01 and/or the files you downloaded to a separate folder on your PC and extract the contets of the .RAR

You'll get a .ISO file this is the file to copy to your PSP that i've explined before.

what do you mean by take out the .rar and .r01? a little confused. The rar file i loaded is layed out like this:-

psp--------Game--|--Fastloader%
|_ _ _ Fastloader

isomisc -- thumbs.db file, and a backpic.bmp file

iso --- the game is here.

The above is in its zipped stage.

im using umd emulator.
hope this helps.
Sorry if im going round in circles, im trying to get to grips with it as fast as i can,

@dansage - now you're confusing me. the rar file that you described is UMD Emulator. That i suppose that you've installed on your PSP. Where it says /ISO -> ISO file is here, this is the folder in your PSP where you're suppose to put the iso games that you download.

Let's be precise! Tell me what game you want to play and the name of the file.

Thats what i cant work out. the game is destiny warriors, and i loaded the game from limewire. it said the file was a .iso file.

when it loaded, it was infact a .rar file which was laid out as i have described. Ive already previously downloaded umd emulator, and from what i can gather now, the file i downloaded from limewire must have included umd emulator as well, and in the ISO folder is the game (destwar.iso)

any clearer?

so, deswar.iso is the ISO file that i've been telling you to copy to your PSP. to /ISO folder.

As soon as you've done this, simply run UMD Emulator and your see in green leters on the bottom, destwar.iso the select it and press the CROSS button to load it.

Tell me progress.

@GR13 - No problem in that. As far as i could learn from you here, the problem was easy to explain :D seems that dansage was a bit confused about the files. Think it's solved though i'm still waiting for an answer from him.

Regarding Sims, i've tried doing that but nothing. Does the clock speed has anything to do with it? What configs do you advise me to use in UMD Emu?

I've also tried using the PSX/File Decryptor to recompile eboot.bin with 1.5 firmware and use it but no can do.

My girl is so pissed off lol all day long what i do is play car or football games (witch i do not need to say that she is not very fond of those lol) so she practically argues all day cause i don't give her attention lol so Sims was more the game of "here, take it, play, enjoy and SHUT UP" :P

@Cyrozo... Im really glad you learned something from this thread. about Sims, try both three settings we have seen, COPY LOAD, DIRECT LOAD and SYSTEM MENU WITH DEVHHOK. Mean while I will be searching to see if there is any specific settings for the game or if ti dosen't work on FW 1.5

Good luck

@GR13 - nope, trying all sort of combinations. using UMD Emulator and Devhook, using Fastloader, all configs and choices, tryed to decrypt eboot.bin with FW1.50 and use it as boot.bin.

Nothing applies

@dansage - hey, that's what we are all here. To learn and to teach. I my self a few days ago were exactly on your position. A bit frustated because i spen't money and could use it the way i've planed.

So now that i've learne the minimum, i feel that i have the duty to help others.

That's the way it's supposed to be.

I'm looking for that answer from you as soon as you have time.

=)
