Tokijin,
Could you be more specific as to what you mean by "Nope."

Tokijin i Found it
> Buzzing sounds can be a sign of EMF interference which means that a
> wire, wires or ribbon cable are picking up an electrical frequency noise.
> This can be eliminated by moving wires away from electrical devices which
> output high frequencies (IC's)
I Had to unplug my cable wire

The v.13 and 14 don't require laser fixes. That info is straight from pro modders KC36330, Davbere, and Xmodds. Only the v.12 PS2 requires a laser fix. Even an unmodded v.12 requires a laser fix in order to keep it from burning out. Read my modchip FAQ for all the info you need to make an informed decision about which chip to buy. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/304534

Tokijin,
Thanks for your help. Ok, but do you have any idea if I am able to get the straw method to work with the V13-V14 models?

I'm not real sure, I've never used the straw method. Accoring to a response to one your posts in another thread, it can't be used with the v.13 and 14.
From: Ace_2
Quote: I tried to do that on my Version 14 and there's no way the straw can fit in the hinge. Something is blocking the hole there was in the Version 12. The only way to get the straw to go through(maybe a stupid idea) is to try to get the Version 12 lid out of your console(use the guide for the Flip Top Cover to remove and install the lid.) and placing it in the Version 13/14. Remove the Version 13/14 lid and replace it with the Version 12 lid. Soon, I will post a guide to a way to MOD a slim Version 13/14 that I'm working on(trying to press down that annoying switch near the hinge without the use of a paperclip to prevent the possibility of a short-circuit or opening the console, which I will not do until the warranty is finished.).
If you have the money, I recommend upgrading to a quality modchip like the DMS 4 Pro SE, an You don't need to get a v.13 or 14, just make sure if you do get your v.12 modded you get a laser fix installed. Any reputable modder will inform you of the need for a laser fix with the v.12 and install it for free or for a nominal $5-$10 cost. My Modchip FAQ will provide you with all the info you need to make an informed decision about getting a chip.

Well, that doesn't sound good. It's not a good idea to dink around inside the PS2 if you're 100% sure what you're doing. I'd take it to a pro and see what they say. You could PM KC36330, he's a pro modder and extremely knowledgeable about the PS2 and other things. Perhaps he could get you pointed in the right direction.

If you got the metal block in your ps2 slimline then you have a V13 or V14.
If you dont have a metal block then you got a V12.
The straw method wont work on V13 or V14 as the picture on the techwizad.com link shows, its just to narrow. Your better off spending a few quid on the Slimtool MK2, once it's in, you can just forget about it.

I'm not real familiar with the integrated cheats into Toxic OS. I know it supports CodeBreaker, ARMAX and Gameshark. Maybe you're more familiar with those.

if your dvd can't read discs and your dvd driver doesn't work it's most likely your motor drive IC is toasted just for the record disc gotta spin up first so laser can read it not like somebody said "the laser is not reporting any data to the processor so the processor isnt going to spin the drive, it belives there is no disk in so it doesnt spin up."once again First disc gotta spin so laser can read if your motor doesnt spin at all FIRST get a new IC
