yeah did that already thats i meant when i said i had replace the whole ms dash but nothin no parent control and still cant play games i even updated my bios from 4974 to 4983 and nothing

it is weird that you dont have parental control on M$ dash. Because you can play some games. Are they kid games? do they has violents, blood or rated R?
You can't play some other games. What happen if you play them. Are they kid games? do they have violents, blood, rated R?

I want to make a new hdd and install new dashboard to see if that will fix the problem.
YOu can download this and Then unrar it. The iso is inside. Then burn it to DVD. With this disk you can build any hdd for xbox (10GB or above).

If not download it from the link I gave you above. Then burn it to dvd.
Backup the 40GB hdd to PC if you want. We going to format that hdd and reinstall dashboard.

yeah its gon take me about 30 mins for 735 mbs
but i say we try to replace that c drive on the 40 gig with the c drive on 4 gigs, i noticed that the c drive on the 4 gigs has :

ok you can try this. ftp the whole C drive on 4GB hdd to PC. then remove that hdd from xbox. Put the 40Gb in xbox again. Then ftp and delete the whole C drive (backup if you did not). Then ftp the whole C drive backup on PC of 4GB to this C drive. Reboot xbox
