yea, the GC wasn't for everyone, but I enjoyed it even if it didn't do so hot in the U.S. I was really against xbox until KOTOR...and of course "other reasons" (see sig) but then i got it last finally.

I cover my bases...
1)Xbox w/xecuter 2.6 solderless
2)Ps2 (slim) w/DMS4 Lite
3)Ps2 V7 w/DMS4 Lite and 200 Gig Maxtor HDD
4)GC w/qoob pro

maybe Neo-Geo wasn't popular in the UK. They are games made by the company SNK. They make Samurai showdown I-V and King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, World Heroes, etc. Very colorful and nice looking graphics, and since it came out in like 1990, it was really a big deal b/c it was up against NES and TG-16 which looked way inferior. It just cost $600 for the AVS system and about $200 for each game because back in 1990, RAM was very very very expensive and these games needed a ton of it to run. The big selling point besides the graphics I think was that the games you play at home are identical to the arcade versions, but that price and the fact that people were content playing games with less-advanced graphics meant failure for neo geo...at least in the home market, they've milked their fighting game series for everything they're worth and continue to make games for the current gen systems, the funny thing is the graphics are essentially the same as they were more than 10 years ago.

Did $200=£60 in 1990?, as that is much the games cost here.

i dunno what the dollar was worth back then compared to the british pound. They really were $200 a game in USD. No exaggeration whatsover. They're even more now...they do still make them amazingly. I think King of Fighers 2003 was the last one and it was about $350 but that was due to limited quantities being made.
