Sorry, ps3 just doesn't have it at all. They are much like Japanese car companies, they just copy and in this case completely fail. #1 is Wii, and for what I can't get there, #2 is gonna have to be 360. This coming from an owner of TWO PS2s...you let me down sony...hard

yeah both Neo - Geo and 3DO cost something like 650 to 700 bucks i think, and where are they know. same things goes for sega ,they sold for 499 i think and the ps1 was going for 299 i think, thats why ps1 owned.

I doubt it will be on that massive of a scale. I do think that Sony will lose a significant number of fans, but not enough to put Nintendo or Microsoft on top.

i own a gcube and i neve thought there was anything wrong with it untill i played need for speed most wanted for ps2 also.
i realised how insanely different the graphics are, ps2 whips gcube.
i think the wii is nice but how can you say it will be #1 the only good thing they have going was the sensing remote but ps3 also incorperated the 6 axis sensor control. (wich was originaly made by microsoft for pc's in 1999)i have to admit that zelda the twilight princes looked good because you could aim with the controler but ps3 can also incorperate that into their controler.
the problem with ps3 though could be that users will never use all the features it will have. but hey the nintendo has 3 ports on the bottom wich i have never used.
ps3 is going to beat wii badly because it will have better graphics and beter games.

just for the record i am an american, a veteran, and love my country, but what you said is soo wrong. It pains me to say this but the japanese in comparison to americans make far better quality products, most notiably is in the car business (honda, need i say more????) well if you think sony copies, and is similar to their car companies then that can only lead to success my friend. so im not sure what your trying to say here, but the only thing we have ever trumped the japanese at is when we dropped the atomic bombs on them, and we all know the story.

i think that is a very correct and bold statement. the ps3/360/wii are not for everyone. each is different in their own regards so find which one suits your needs, and just be happy, but why bash one for trying to do things that have never been done before, or offer more capabilities than its predecessors??

better games hell no, what are you saying, nintendo has always had beter games just not enough of them, thats why gamecube failed, oh and gamecube was more powerfull then the ps2, then it was the xbox, i mean think about it supersmash bros melee had awesome graphics considering that the game needed good frame rates, then look at killzone on ps2 great graphics but very slow frame rates.
as for ps3 beating the wii b/c of graphics well have you not been watching the e3 interview with g4 or gamestrailers, they are all saying that they are very dissapointed b/c it has the same graphical capabilities as xbox 360 but you are paying a whole load more, and all of those same people are saying that wii went off with a bang and that it looks awesome, etc, etc, etc.

you're just a sony hater which is why you say some of the things you do.
$500&$600 is only $100 more than 360, don't make it seem like its $200 or $400 more.
And Sony had a far far far far far far far far far far bigger base than both those systems x100,000 so you saying its going to go down like neo geo is just wishful thinking.
All sony has to do is learn from other ppls mistakes, like companies who start boasting they are going to take over the world and sell a gabillion systems and only have 10 ready.
Sony isn't MS.
As long as its in stock, it will be sold.

tell me where i said anything about sony going down all i did was agree with the guy who made this post that expensive consoles in the past have not succseded, you really do not know what you are talking about dod you, hahah i did not even say the word ps3 in my whole post.

well i guesss your right about the game thing nintendo has star fox and zelda and other amazing games but i have only played around 10 amazing games for the gcube and they were ussualy in the other systems for example
prince of persia
the need for speed series
but their were cool games like both star fox games
and super smash brothers
its hard to compare them because they all have different things. in the end none of systems is going to fail because they all have different fan basses you just have to be happy with what you buy

the guy that made the post was saying that sony will join them, and you just admitted that you agreed with his post. you don't need to mention ps3 explicitly to be talkin about it. You could be talking about them in a subtle way, which i felt you were. In anycase why are you arguing this, you know you really hope it happens.

nope, i actually plan on buying a ps3 after seeing heavenly sword, but i gues you thought you had me all sused out and that i am this stupid xbox 360 fanboy, well no i am, not, i do not know why you have been on my case for at least 3 mounths now. also you said "you just admitted that you agreed with his post." not his entire post only this "i did was agree with the guy who made this post that expensive consoles in the past have not succseded," keep an eye out for when i say expensive consoles have failed not that the i agree with whatever that guy wanted to happen or was implying towards the ps3.

well, i have just three syllables for you: subaru.
so sony's specs for the ps3 aren't quite what we hoped they'd be...so what? if there turns out to be a real problem with the system, it won't sell and (hopefully) sony will learn from their mistakes and either drop the price or release a ps3.5.
the thing is, it's just a game system. if you don't like it, don't buy it. when game companies ignore the the very people they're trying to gain income from, they go out of business.
yes, sony has screwed their market a bit, trying to make a game system into something most say it shouldn't be, but (hopefully) they'll learn. if they don't, it's still good for the consumer, as we won't have to deal with their crap anymore. i can't believe everyone seems to have forgotten about the xpc deal.
everyone seems to take this too seriously. we've all heard the fanboys and those just trying to find the best system fight it out before. why can't we all just wait for some real friggin' reviews? even the glorious E3 screws stuff up, guys.

one thing i heard last night was that most of the exclusive games sony once had are going to be on 360 or wii. like capcom made a surprise statment that res evil would be on wii. And then the funny thing that the creator of MGS wanted snake in smash bros, he had to ask them to put him in. This could mean we'll see an MGS game for wii or maybe even 360. comparatively then, besides the obvious tekken and umm well tekken, i can't think of anything else that ps3 definitely has exclusively, they've got nothing you can't find anywhere else, and this is something ms and wii have locked down, great 1st party support with strong ip's like halo for 360 and zelda for wii, there are more but i don't need to mention them all. but maybe sony will come up with a new francise good enough to warrant a lot of hype in making sequals like the others mentioned. its just a lot for them to bet on Blu-ray so much when its fate is not sealed. that could actually kill it on its own IF Blu-ray is completely rejeced by the masses.
as for the car remark, i'm a torquey american v8 lover so thats where the comes from. i admit than in fit and finish terms usually jap cars have that down, but i'd drive a large moving box if it was powered with a v8. having a slow 4 cyl is not all that appealing to me, turbo or not... even if gas goes to $10 a gallon.

rabbity, u know what would be great is if for 360 they make a REAL NEW conker game the revised one on xbox was kinda dissapointing cuz it wasn't new. or maybe on the wii that would be good too, i'd have fun using the control slapping rats with the pan that'd be awesome.

you are comparing the number 1 leader as of right now to Neo-Geo and 3DO? you just can't do that. No one gave a damna bout the 3DO or Neo-Geo name on a console, but right now, people care when Sony releases a new console.

i cared about neo-geo when i found out about it, and i really wanted one, but i never got it because it was too damn expensive, and i was 7 at the time so i didn't have money for that and my parents couldn't justify blowing that kinda cash on something they perceived to be just a toy. neo-geo was ahead of its time back then and it had some awesome games like metal slug and samurai showdown. but who is gonna shell out $600+ for a console but only the hardcore gamers? ps1/ps2 were attractive because they were inexpensive and offered fabulous games and wide support from every developer out there pretty much, and in ps2's case offered dual functionality as a dvd player when that had proven to be something people needed. dvd players were out and in use extensively then yet still a little pricey, and ps2 was both the hot-new game console AND a dvd player for a good price. BUT Blu-ray is too new and has not caught on yet, and just because sony threw it in their over-priced over-hyped console doesn't mean its going to help sell the console, and that is sony's primary sales point right now. Nintendo was on top until 1995 when ps1 hit or maybe it was 96' i can't remember, the mighty can fall, and have fallen, and it will happen again.

first of all a ps3 an wireless eithernet, bluray, blu tooth controller,60 gig hd=$600
x360 20 gig hd, wireless eithernet, big external HD-DVD,=$700
so with a ps3 you are saving $100
back when the 3do was around people weren't as big into home consouls ase the are now. people will buy a ps3 for the sony name. and it's the quality of the gameplay that matters thats why u need a ps3

drcool it would not come to 700 it would come to 600, at least MS also give you the choice to if you want it whcih for me is no i do not want a hd player and i do not need a wifi so who is it now that ha saved the money.
to the guy who said about conker, well i loved the last one but i can see a lot of things they could have done better.

360 and wii have backwards compatability. Wii has more in that sense b/c you can play more of the older retro games like TG16 and Sega, and for the early-mid 20's market that is gonna sell some consoles because of this "old-school" craze going on right now. But you can play GC and nes-N64 roms on Wii out of the box so that is pretty nice. People can re-discover games like Goldeneye again. But some people will be turned off until they see something they really "Have to have".
The funny thing was, last time around, I had GC first. Then I got Ps2 in 2002 b/c i liked gran turismo 3 so i bought it just for that. I didn't get xbox til 2004, and that was only for KOTOR. GC just had more games that were appealing to me than the other two did, and i already had a dvd player so i didn't need a ps2 or xbox JUST for that. So if either of them wow me, i'll get them, but right now, they're not doing it for me.
