I agree unless your at the head of either a pre-buy list or in line you will NOT be getting the ps3 premium pack.I camped out at wal-mart and i was 1 of 2 to get a premium pack and i was first in line.Your best shot is capming out a best buy but get there like a day early cause sony fans go hard even more than fans of MS.Good luck with that!

ppl say that the 360 will cost as much as the ps3 if you include the hd player. Lets be honest people, who really wants the HD player. 360 games will stay in regular dvd format because the HD drive is optional. It is only useful for playing HD DVD's. What is wrong with regular DVD's. I have a HD TV and the quality of a DVD is perfect. Why do you need these DVD's with more space?
Also to ppl who say the ps3 will have bigger games, bull!
Have you played oblivion? It the by far the biggest and longest game i have played in a very long time. It has a huge map, hundreds of quests, fantastic graphics and does all this is a measly 4.37 GB. The compression software allows for a huge game to be put on 1 DVD and it still has virtually no loading times. A DVD used for gaming could be multilayered to allow for up to 10-12 GB of info. It will be a long time until there is a game massive enough to need that much space and by that time compression software will shrink it back down. So why does sony need 50GB disks?
If DVD's are discarded and a fight between Blue-ray and HD DVD's emerges i can not see mr blue winning. If you have looked on the net you will see that Blue ray movies will cost a ridiculous amount.
So to return to the original point the HD drive for the 360 is an optional side feature that not many people will bother to get for the above reasons. It just further points out sonys ability to place useless features in a console forcing the overall price up. Features which should be optional. Sony fan boys and just looking for a reason to justify the outragous price of the ps3 and in my oppinion their bitching falls on deaf ears!

Good posts tomfitz.
But wait there is late breaking news saying that blu-ray disks allow the games to create virtual reality and thats not the only thing...blu-ray games will help you pick up girls, get free food, get the job of your dreams and more.
You can read this at: www.sonyps3powns360.com
back to reality, tomfitz is right blu-ray is overhyped, kinda just like hd-dvd is there both good products but too expensive and extraneous at the time.MS=smart because the hd-dvd ddrive is an option!

Tomfitz, if you factor in that most people play the 360 online and use the internet wireless adaptor. that is about 100 there. Then you factor cost of paying for xbox live for 3-4 years, you are already over the cost of the premo PS3 (well over the base cost). In the end PS3 and 360 cost about the same thing.

I also haven't bothered with a wireless adapter. I'll have a wire to save £100. Might just be me though...

TTownKlwn - you have a point there, but i never bought a wireless adapter, and neither do most the people, expecially the ones who do not use xbox live at all. also xbox live is really not that expensive, and when i move into my new flat next year i will get bt broadband, whcih is at the momment offering free xbox live service for as long as you have bt broadband. so that solves that money problem.
also just wanted to know if anybody knew if the ps3 online would work with out broadband, b/'c i remember an interview at e3 2005 with a member of staff from sony that said that they would not do the stupid mistake that M$ made by making people buy broadband in order to play xbox live, so if it turns out that ps3 needs broadband then there is another lie to add to the ever growing list. and another reason sony came top in e3 2005, when really it should not have.

With all the negative attention swirling around both HD-DVD and Blu-ray how is it that ANYONE can claim these upgrades are wanted by everyone and should be paired with the console as opposed to sold seperately making it an option.I for one know that with the price tags those movies carry for both disc formats is a little steep and am happy that MS did what they did.All these piracy protection schemes, possible downgrade in video quality and so on.At the moment an hd-up conversion dvd player should do the trick and u can snag one for like 100bucks as opposed to 499.99/hd-dvd player 999.99/blu-ray player.pair that up with the movies for those formats costing 40bcuks each as opposed to4.99-19.99 a dvd.

yeah but its not like everyone is going to get xbox live. I am cancelling my account because i just dont play online any more. PS3 online is free to make up for the expensive console but that will not benefit many people.
So why dont i play xbox live any more? Not enough aussies online :)

I hope Sony does make it broadband only. That is one thing I like about Xbox live. Nothing worse than playing a laggy dial up user. If you can afford a PS3 you should be able to afford some kind of broadband. I only pay 17.99 for my Dsl service, there are deals to be found out there.

Lol do ppl still have dial-up(in u.s.a)?
Would I in a million years want to play on a dial-up connection against a person with a broadband and get stomped on?I have a hard enough time gaming online when someone has a higher connection speed or are cheating/hacking much less dial-up.

"I am cancelling my account because i just dont play online any more."
that is completely your choice and if you feel that you want to do that then go ahead, and to be honest i have not played xbox live for at least 3 mounths, but the only reason i am keeping it is b/c i have seen the awesome games to coming to xbox 360 in the near future and also i remember how mcu fun i had on it with great games on xbox like halo 2, mechassult and consker live and reloaded anhd i am just hoping MS can do the same with xbox 360 using games that wowed people at this years e3, like shadow run, loast plannet, gears of war, mass effect, huxley, etc, etc, etc.
but all i basically want to say is that most people are not giving the xbox 360 enough time to impress them, you have to give a console at least a year after its luanch to start making games that give you the wow feeling.
