just did it yesterday, the TOOL B kept sticking out so i had to turn it clockwise abit and the laser moved forward and stayed there with the red flashs. i taped tool B in its position so it doesnt move, works perfectly now.But when i play backup games it keeps making noises like its loading when i play.is that normal? my backed up rugby 2006 and fight night round 3 work perfectly,no problems at all.but just wondering if its normal for ps2's to keep making ticking sounds like the loading sound?
Many thanks guys!!

SONY DVD-R 1x-16x , burned it at 8x , works really good. When i play fight night round 3 it only makes the loading sound when i load but keeps going when i play a match.Dont know about rugby 2006 but ill try to see if it does the same.

I had that problem too. See if the tools I forget which one, not the one covering the opening of the lid, but the one that you have to push the metal piece all the way to the right... That's the one you need to check. Make sure it's as far to the right as you can before you stick in the tool. I'd be willing to bet that's causing the ticking. :)
