Open up any of the archives and extract the ISO file, Burn that ISO file with DVD Decrpyter or anything else Alcohol 120 etc. You also need a way to play it, Swap Magic(Boot Disks) or Modchip.

Can anyone tell me if a mod chip is required to play a ps2 ISO that was downloaded from a torrent site. The ISO would be burned using DVD Decryptor. Once burned w/ DVD Decryptor, will it just play in my ps2 console? Or is there some other piece of sw needed, like Swap Magic & the slide tool? Or some modification that needs to be done to my console before the ISO will play, i.e. mod chip, etc?

I've got a non flip top "fat boy" ps2, w/ the hard drive. To date no mods have been made to my ps2.

Thanks,
Mars

Yes you do need a modchip to play burned games.

you have to unzip one of the files and it will unzip an .iso file for you simply burn the image onto a dvd and play the game. (also refer to Pspness post above)

NOTE: You will need a modchip in your ps2 to play the game or any sort of burned game.

I cant unzip the files. They are singular as if they have already been unzipped or whatever.

And already have a fliptop for my Ps2 =]

Wow, it's hilarious how many people ask the same things over and over..

Anyway, I'm using DVD Decrypter, a benq1655 and a matrix infinity modded pstwo, all stuff that I've seen recommended here over and over and my burns are not working. Other folks have given me their burns and they do fine. I've also tried nero's image burning and that won't work either. I guess the problem is the file or the media? I'm using Fujifilm DVD-Rs (made in taiwan boo) and the game is Melty Blood, japanese fighting game. tired of wasting discs now, they were like $1/piece.

I am using swap magic, i do not have problem with back up games copied from original games but only with download.

Will try to burn it in DVD-R to see if it works.

Swap magic is a good option but is only really 80-85% reliable. Some times you need to merge a patch with the iso as the newer games are improving their features. Use this website and search for the game to either get the official swap magic fix or the patch http://swapmagicfix.com/

Also i advise that you use a real chip rather than boot disks, chips are much more reliable
