You can but i think your experience might be less than satisfactory. You might want to, with a 56K line, use Overnet since it is much more forgiving with 56K users hehe.

In eMule v0.30b you can choose your download limit by scrolling a bar left and right. The lowet download limit you can scroll it to (by moving it all the way to the left) is 1. How can I make my download limit zero "0"???

Isn't there like a textbox where you can actually type in the doenload limit? Or wait, I think that that feature changed with 0.30b because in 0.30a you could manually type it in. Also, if you want to set your download speed to maximim then just set your download speed on the slide-thingy to something above your max download rate. Its not like you are going to d/l faster that your bandwidth! :)

You most certainly can, that's how everyone else does it. However, since the entire ed2k network, like any p2p network, works on a system of uniquely identifiable hashes, you will find that no one is downloading them because you are the only source. The files will be searchable by way of the applications, but most will stay away from them. You want people to download from you though, because it will enable you to download faster from others. A great way to increase the visibility of those files you wish to share would be to announce them on the forum of an indexing site, such as the great sharereactor. Instructions for that can be found at such a site. However, you also must be sure that what you wish to share is of great quality and is desirable, or you will be ridiculed and no one will download the file. You are more than welcome to just put them in the folder though; even if no one downloads them, it will have no effect on your credits, and certainly not a negative effect.

There is a lot more to achieving speed with eMule than the connection settings. It also depends on your isp's reliability!! You might have a lousy connection to your sources, they may be on the other side of the world for instance, some people are just lucky, like me and you lol!

Anyone with that much upload speed will have great success with eMule. Most people, however, are limited to 128-384 kbits, or about 16-47 KB/s. For instance, I have a 3.3/256 connection, so while my max download speed is great, 403 KB/s, my upload is limited to 31 KB/s. No amount of settings tweaking will allow me to upload as fast as you, so I just leave it on and share a bunch of popular files.

I have no clue at all on how to configure emule, I just got a 600/128 cable internet installed.

I only got emule 3 weeks ago and loving it, can somebody tell me good settings to let me get good download speeds?
The highest I have got is 29 in the speed counter at the bottom.

Thanks, reply soon

Are you new to eMule or something? cause slow speed seems to be the start for everyone. There are other factors too like if u have a static ip, then it doesnt change so definately will be rewarded rightly for your uploading!

You were close - the correct folder is the incoming folder, the same directory that you download to. You may also change or add shared folders in the Directories submenu after you click on Preferences. Also, be aware that eMule will take some time and cpu resources to "hash up" those files that you add, giving them a unique identity. Unless those files are identical to some already existing on the eDonkey network, it is unlikely that anyone will download them. Therefore, it's not recommended that you share, for example, a bunch of mp3's (they will take a long time to hash), or some junk movies from Kazaa (even if you see something with the same filename in eMule, it is highly likely that it won't have the same hash after being run through Kazaa.) Feel free to try though.

hi i'm sort of new using v.30 and i want to know how to make my uploads faster. i don't mean my overall uploads i mean for each user i have my upload limit set at 10 because when ever i set it higher it just gets a whole bunch of users going slow. i would like to set my upload limit higher but only have a few users at a time so they can download faster is this possible or will it always just fill up with tons of people downloading at around 2/KBs?

I have been using dc++ for a long time, but I decided to try emule for a while. Should I just use the original emule or would emule plus be a better choise? What about the other mods?

Does it matter what server your connected to? Not speed-wise, but for finding files. I ask because I've searched for files while being connected to different servers and gotten different results.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

Yes it matters. In the serverlist you can see how many files each server has. Just choose the one which has the most files.
