I used the wizard so I could follow what was happening in the log. I was curious what was causing the problems. That way you just push all the buttons when RI4M tells you to. With Crank and Talladega Nights, you may as well go ahead and let it run FixVTS before opening in Shrink. When it opens in Shrink and will go through analysis, you can pretty much bet the files will transcode.

I don't know what to tell you. I just did 2 of the most difficult new DVDs (full disc) without a problem. They play on the standalone player with all menu functions working properly. The only errors I got was when I tried opening rips I did with AnyDVD. Normally AnyDVD and processing with FixVTS does the job, but not this time.

The files have to be DVD compliant. With all the blanking and removing the structure is altered from the original. FixVTS is just a little program for getting things straightened up. It's the last thing you do before opening the files in Shrink. That's with the wizard method. You can go with one click, which does most movies without any needed input.

yea i have the worst luck with these programs...idk whats wrong with my decryptor...i followed all the steps from the guide and when i run RI4M and then do click mode, make sure everything is correct like on the guide. It starts to run the decryptor, runs for a second, then pops up with an error saying I/O error, send key- challenge Key, copy protection key exchange failure. How do i fix...

Try this below:
* open up DVD Decrypter
* click on Mode (and make sure it's on File F)
* click on Tools, Settings, then General
* untick "Check For Structure Protection"
* click OK
Now restart everything over.

I use AnyDVD which does away with the copy protection, not a freeware programme but well worth the outlay, and CloneDVD. i have never had any problems using these two together.

chazlie34-
I agree that AnyDVD is a great program for both ripping and for removing copy protection. However, I find that DVDClone2 does not do all that you need it to. I think of that program from a beginners aspect. Most of the time with the newer DVD structure and amount that is on the film, the only way to reduce the size is to use VobBlanker. If I am going to have to use another program to remove stuff that I do not want on the film, I will just stick with the original way that I learned the hard way!
I have AnyDVD and love it. That in combination with DVD Decrypter, VobBlanker, and Nero Recode2 or DVD Shrink you can get anything done. However, even though the process is easier, DVDFab Decrypter can handle just about everything. The main thing that we try to focus on in this forum is helping people get the job done without spending any money.
http://ripit4me.org RipIt4Me is a great way to do this for beginners. The process takes a little longer, but you can have a flawless DVD completed with the use of this program.
