First, thanks for all of your knowledge and posts. I clicked on your rip/shrink/burn link noted above on 3/18/07 @ 18:15 and I received a message saying "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." within Adobe Reader. I was wondering which version of Shrink you were referring to when using Imgburn. You said to use a different version with Imgburn that the standard version you would use with DVD Decrypter.
The original version of DVD Shrink supports the burner software in DVD Decrypter. The Select backup target: option is Create ISO image file: ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter. There is a revised version of Shrink that supports ImgBurn instead of the DVD Decrypter burner ware and ImgBurn is listed in the options instead of DVD Decrypter. The revised version of Shrink is included in the software pack listed in the guide. I've heard there is a problem with the link from the guide, so here's a link to the site where I found the software. Actually I didn't find it myself, the link was given to me as well. I'd previously done an exe swap in Shrink that took care of the situation for me.

sdsunjay ,
The reason I asked about the ripper is because Shrink is not that good of a ripping program and it can not do the newer encrypted movies. If you ever get the DVD back then re-rip it but play it on the computer first to see if the audio is OK.

I agree with you. The software being mentioned isn't for use in corrrecting damaged files. It would be easiest to rerip the source (making sure the source isn't flawed). I'll not make any comments on recording DVDs we don't have in our possession.

It's possible, just a lot easier to rerip the original.
