What I find hilarious is that you are catching trouble about "doing the wrong thing" from people that are on a forum dedicated to "backing up" or should I say blatantly stealing games. What a joke. As far as I'm concerned you should have kept the additional HD.

hmm, last i recall we dont allow piracy here, nor do we allow fools to come in and post stupidity which from reading is what i have found from your post...perhaps you should go else where to find you a forum that tolerates that crap

Scammer - Yes.

Unjustified - Debatable

I won't say much, because I've got a launch-day system sitting at home with a towel wrapped around it as a rather permanent fixture, in order for it to operate. If I could I probably would.

As it is, I've considered some of the 'less than completely honest' return methods that people have described here. I'm really upset that I shelled out cash for an extended store warranty; only to have it break just outside of that warranty.

Either way, I won't condone the story described here; but I'm also not going to condemn it. The one thing I will say, is that he had a problem and found a creative way to solve it.

You don't seem to realise that *I'm* the victim here

I just love this stuff. Your not a victim. Your an uninformed consumer. Everyone who has read up on the 360 knows that they have been having problem. There are quite a few people who had theirs give them the "red ring of death) within the first few hours of use. So don't sit there like you are the only one who has had to go through the proper channels to get their 360 fixed. That is what a Warranty is for. I even bought the extra store warranty so that if it does happen they have to replace it at the store level. That is why they make seperate store and manufacturer waranties. It happens with every new console that has come out over the past 10 years. At first they have problems and by the second or third generation of them it will be worked out. Look at the V12 slimline PS2 as an example. I know people who dropped their $400 on a brand new system only to have the laser burn out in the first 10 minutes. What you did was take a console that was bad because Microsoft pumps them out in mass production, and you put the burden and blame on the store that you bought it from. Now he has to spend the time and money to return it for repair, and then only has a used console to sell when he gets it back. meaning he will lose money reselling it to someone else. All because you are too impatient to wait a few weeks to get your console back. Spin the story any way you like buddy, fact is fact. And just because other people do it doesn't make it right. I hope that they will all take up jumping off of building next...i am sure you will follow right along.

What I find hilarious is that you are catching trouble about "doing the wrong thing" from people that are on a forum dedicated to "backing up" or should I say blatantly stealing games. What a joke. As far as I'm concerned you should have kept the additional HD.

and as far as that goes, it is a technology forum where people come for answers. Piracy is not allowed, but if someone goes as far as to download a game and needs help burning it. Then people help them. It is not a crime for me to tell you what to do or how to do it. It is your crime for following the instructions. Just because people may read up on things and actually know something, doesn't mean that they actually do it. And even if they did a smart person would not go into admitting his guilt on a public forum. backing up games may be illegal but i highly disagree with the law. If i own it there is not reason i should not be able to put my original in a safe place and play a back up copy. Downloading and uploading them is a whole different subject.

schweet,

You're thread title and post are the biggest pile of pathetic childish bragging I've seen in some time. The fact that you change your story after being slammed only reinforces what a jerk you are. You play the part of a druggie in order to scam a legitimate business out of product? Just because a store has the misfortune to recieve a defective unit doesn't give you the right to do what you did. If you were my son, no matter what age, I'd kick the living crap out of you for a stunt like that. There's absolutely no justifying what you did, how you did it or your actions since then. Anyone who thinks otherwise ought to be ashamed of thinking that way.

I'm going to end this thread with this: If I ever see you contaminate our forums with a ridiculous thread like this again I'll boot you right off this site.

kurupt_kw,

Now for you. Your nick speaks volumes about your morals and sensibility so it's no wonder you view our site the way you do. Despite your disillusionment our site deals with backing up legally owned media. We DO NOT help folks obtain pirated material and we do not allow the discussion of pirated material in our forums so sit down and think on that before making any more uninformed statements.
