I am currently in this situation as well, and the "cool kids" over at the US Playstation website were no help at all.
My problem is I've only got a 32 meg card. Hence why I needed this installer.
I don't want to go out and buy a card for my PSP if I end up bricking it by upgrading.
I'm at 1.50 now, and I've already tried to run the program once. It gave me the same messages xploda is getting, about the incorrect psar and when I run kxploitpatcher it gives the message that it's not for this version.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

xploder.
I fixed mine!
I went back in and deleted basically all signs of what this installer may mess with (the xploitpatcher folders that were on there, and the m33UPDATE folder as well, and possibly another m33 folder? I can't quite remember).
I then re-ran the EZ Installer. I tried to use xploitpatcher again and it told me the same error, that it wasn't for this firmware. Then I thought, why not? And tried the M33UPDATE and this time it worked!
I now have 3.52m33 firmware. I hope it works for you too.

I was on so many different websites last night I don't honestly remember.
M33 3.52 Installation Noob Proof installing from 1.50.zip was the name of the file.
17.1 MB.
Did you delete the other folders off your PSP before trying it?
Maybe I just got really lucky.

If you are trying to install a CFW and you get the PSAR incorrect, then you can try one of these two solutions:
1- To use a memstick with less than 4GB.
2- Use the Winstaller, with any memstick.
I recommend the winstaller, cuz its easier, and much faster in the overall process.

What do you mean 2003 version? The PSP didn't even come out until 2004...
Or do you mean model number, if so, it's a 100X, the new PSP has 200X.
Even so, it doesn't matter what model you have, i have the earliest version (1000) and it's fine.

nah man, if you read the earlier posts, i had problems with every single installer, seems like my psp is flash proof or something :/
im downgrading again right now, the winstaller with 2.71SE bricked it. even the oldest versions cant work on my psp, my psp must be one of those failed test subjects that escaped or something
-edit: yes i was on 1.5 all the way

The 1006 model is actually quite "new" i think it's only been around since 2006.
Could you try updating to something like 3.03 OE-C then up to 3.52 M33? I honestly have no idea why nothing works for you...
