Thats right...recovery.prx-its in the KD folder. If that is missing, you are not going to be able to get into recovery mode and save your psp...

Send it to Sony, Tell them it updated and now it won't turn on. Don't tell them that you downgraded. You will get a 3.52 PSP but atleast you have one.

they won't replace it at first but you have to call a couple of times and actually get rude with them telling them that "if i update I ruin the PSP, if I don't my warranty void. WTF am i supposed to do" Ask to speak to the manager if you have to.
Tell them when they ask how you updated that you used the ORIGINAL 32MB SONY Memory Stick, had the battery at 100% charge and that you had it plugged in and it updated and doesn't turn on, don't say that it turned off during the update.

I haven't done this before but I have gotten rude with Sony to get what I want. I got the UMD sampler disc from them because my PSP didn't come with one. At first they wanted me to send them the entire PSP.

lol i hate to be a dick, but i dont see how anyone could brick a psp. Ive done downgrading and installing custom firmware on at least 20 psp's, not a single one had any problems.

With the downgraders out there these days-its pretty safe to not brick...I think the problem lies more with people wanting to dabble with customizing their themes, and files are getting deleted that should not be in flash0-causing the brick...

Yea, that's true, if you have to ask about what the vsh folder is or which files you can delete to make some room (for example) then you souldn't even really be trying, you'll just end up bricking.

Hey, i can help...Try reflashing. You messed up the fash0 files right? You can get them back to original.Well download dowgrader 1.5 then download upgrader to 3.40OE-A(back up all files before trying to do this)Well do recovery mode then toggle usb mode.Replace the PSP file and when it says:Do you wish to replace files, then press yes.when you've done that just upgrade into 3.40OE-A and your flash0 files goes back to normal. If you want to be taught how to reflash a psp go to this site :http://igizmore.blogspot.com/2007/06/custom-firmware-semi-brick-recovery-to.html
I suppose you know how to upgrade to 3.40OE-A?

Hey I'm sorry that I don't explain things right.I meant to overwrite the PSP folder with the 1.5 downgrade file. And i meant if you want to be taught how to reflash by a pro then go that site in the last reply.I recommend you using the site though.I'm scared i fully brick your PSP if i told you the wrong things.

Well, even if the power still stays on, if you can't access recovery then it's bricked.
Hold R until the normal time it takes to get to recovery, then press the brightness button, it might come on, or try operating it blind, on the black screen pressing x when you get to recovery will enable USB so you can see on your computer if it's working.
If neither works then you have a full brick.

IDK what's wrong with it but it must be fully bricked.Did you only delete the flash0 files or did you delete something else?I've never heard of this problem before.

LOL, the problem is, he's got a brick. He's not put back the recovery.prx when he copied back over his flash0, so if he could get into recovery, it would be the biggest bit of luck i've come across in a while...

Oh,well you see I'm not too smart about PSP.I bought it for 6 months and then got the USB cable for 3 months...So I need to catch up...I don't even know what DAX is and I don't even know if ISO is better than CSO or if they're the same apart from how much mb/gb they take...I don't even know why people want to convert CSOs into ISOs...I'm so confused about these...

Don't worry, you'll learn, just like i did.
1)DAX = Dark_AleX, the guy that made the OE firmware's
2)A CSO is just a compressed version of an ISO, though a couple of games lag a little in CSO format, that's the only reason i could think of people wanting to change CSOs back into ISOs

Blackorea, the only options are send it back to sony and be rude or get a new motherboard and modchip.. which is to pricey... and i suppose you're american, so getting a modchip will be a bitch, i've heard about the laws they've enforced on US about PSP homebrew.
looks like you'll have to just send it back to sony...but you have to say clearly "i was upgrading then it switched off" otherwise they'll never buy it..

Maybe look up that guy on eBay who does the unbricking service for $50? Or sell your others for parts, perhaps you could use them for target practice?
Send a PM (Private Message) to cnj0_6-he has the info on the eBay unbrick guy..I guess it works!
