you have the latest version of pSlax off of Xbins right? hmm, alright, well if that's the case, when you get the the Linux login screen in Slax, test the drive then, open and close it a few times. you can also do that all throughout the process.
another thing, in my case, when i hit the power button on my pc, it shuts down instead of restarting, so once i hear the power cut, i just hit the power button again on my pc. keep opening and closing on the Windows Logo screen, and let us know how that works for ya.

ok, the pslax just wouldnt work for me so i tried the two wire trick and that works great. but when i start windows it does not recondnize my drive. i eject it a few times while windows is loading but it still wont work. i dont think the problem could be the sata card because i used it to flash my ms25.

i finally did it. it was my sata card after all. i hooked it up to my onboard sata and it worked. this was a new computer and i didnt know if my sata would work, and i had the card from when i modded last time. so anyway it works now and i was able to use the slax disc. and one last question. can i extract stealth files from my rips? i have a few games that i cant play at the moment because of ixtream. so thanks.

ok, you have the Kreon flashed samsung correct? if you have that, then yes, you can extract stealth files straight off of the disc with programs such as xbox backup creator, xdvd mulleter and schtrom. use xbins for those

alright pete, go to www.chiliflash.com
they have a chip that unbricks drives, however, i'm not 100% sure of it's specs and functionality on the 79's, so read up a little bit
hope all goes well m8

thanks for the reply budro. but tried the link and its dead www.chiliflash.com are you talking about the chilli fix chip?. do you know of any other method rather than soldering the chilli chip onto the board, i'am an experienced solderer and the pionts dont look to different from the passkey points so should'nt be a problem. but i thought there may be a software fix for this, if there isnt a software fix please advise and i'll order a chilli chip.
regards pete.

Connectivity kit meaning the usb adapter? If that's the case then you should be able to, but if not, you'll know right away.

i don't think so. if it didn't work for the 79, then it won't work for the 79. save yourself a headache and some time and get the PCI SATA adapter.

well, as far as the SATA card goes, as long as it's a VIA chipset, then it should work no problem. but if at all possible, i would look for that exact brand and model number that i now have posted.
64 bit system? i don't believe it'll make a difference. once again you should know immediately if it won't work.
