Enough with the doors already. D2C is being worked on and will be done when it's done.
If the changes are physical then it probably won't be cracked and a whole new approach to Wii mods will be needed, so don't hold your breath, It could take a long time.

Just to add to what Mark187 said,
A d2b chip was swopped with a d2c chip and when the d2b chip was in the d2c model it worked fine. Mods ran fine.
So as long as the d2c chip can be manipulated like a d2b chip can then a mod can work. But it is a big if.

See that's the funny thing about doors. You never know if you should push them or pull them to open.
Doors are so mysterious!!!

wii mars site? 'welcome to the oficial website wii-mars revolution chip'
obviously not a fluent dictionary speaker, think someones been on online dictionary translator! and its called wii-mars, but on the pic of the chip itself it says M.W v.4, isnt that the wrong way around? wouldnt that be Mars-wii? or is it to do with the whole mars theme? i mean iv never been but maybe everything is backwards in mars? oh i dont know best to leave it to the experts over at M.W... or W.M..... or A.B.C. after all they are the spelling geniuses that have cracked the new d2c, so they must be right, 8I

So now the question in my mind is; does anyone have a firmware dump from a d2b chip, or are was only a direct swap of chips tried? If a dump has been made, one should be able to buy a d2b from someplace like digikey, program it and install it in place of the d2c. Granted, then you'd also need a programmer for the d2b, but there are creative ways to do that, too.
Current modchips are just microcontrollers with code to interface with the d2b on a serial bus, right? Maybe future mod chips could also use some unused general I/O to interface between the ISP pins on a blank d2b and a serial port on a computer. One could then rip out the D2C, put in a blank d2b and a modchip, and then connect the computer to program the d2b. After that they could turn on the Wii. Definitely not very elegant or ideal, but could work...

I suspect this is no longer possible or we'd still probably have a chip with clipped leads. My guess would be that after testing, the test pins are disabled.
