I purchased my Wii in August 2007. It unfortunately has the currently unmodifiable D2C chipset and a missing #3 leg. I already purchased the WiiKey and would like to keep it if their team will be able to make it compatable with the D2C chipset in the future without having to update the hardware. Does anyone have any news on WiiKey's progress?

Please post any supported news about modifying D2C Wii's here.
Thank you all in advance!

Thanks Thinone! I see that quote on the official site, but how do we verify if it's true unless some one has a working sample?

And how does the features and reliability of a wii-mars compare to the current top 3?

also the chip that is shown on the front of the website looks nothing like the chip shown in the installation diagram. Who do these guys think that they're fooling?

Yup, looks fake folks.

I emailed them asking how much it would cost for a sample of one unit so I could try it and got the following reply.........

"the minimum order quantity is 300 pcs the 8,50$ .

yes v5 support d2c few people have today we are talk with resellers from Taiwan."

I think I'll give that a miss!!!

Modifications to firmware are above me. But the public info at the moment sort of works like this (and I am guessing it will people even more laymen than me)

Imagine a room, with lots of different doors, some of them do nothing, others do something. Inside the room is transcript. To get the drivemod to work you need to...
open the right door,
at the right time and
alter the transcript.

So far, it appears as the correct door may have been found, and the timing is probably not the issue. What does seem to be the issue is that in order to change the manuscript you need to be able to read it. The previous commands to read it, or make it do funky stuff do not work. Basically they didn't just move the doors, they changed the way the manuscript is written.

Its pretty hard to read something that spends its life in a locked room, so you need to get a copy of it out.

That sort of sums up, from what I can make out, where they are at the moment. The door has been found complete with a nice map, but they either need to get a copy of the memory out, or, maybe they will just get lucky in true lottery fashion with educated guesses.

If they do manage to get a copy dumped, then translating what is going on and what commands are needed to change things will get a hell of a lot easier ;)

Of course, this is just the public info versions, in private teams maybe someone already has figured how to get the copy and maybe they are already working on various commands. Who knows?

what the hell was all that about? That was a fun bit of nonsense. It was very entertaining though.

It's funny when you start out a post that says, "Modifications are above me" and then go ahead to try and explain it anyway using a jumble of nonsensical analogies that reek of speculation and generalities.

You mention the phrases, "they are at the moment" and "they either need" and so on and so forth. Who exactly is "they"?

While your post was definitely comical at best, this thread is intended to server as a focal point for precise updated scene news on the D2C chipset. We're not looking for speculation and opinions.

A more aptly suited post would look something like:

Team X has found that....

Please spare us the fictitious children's stories. LOL

The hackers are working on a chip and like it has been said there are doors and such like for them to open. That is how I understand it, it's like a giant maze of sorts.

That THEY need to fiddle about with in their laboratories under the veil of night.

I just hope that THEY get a solution out soon as I have just bought a D2C and found out I can't chip it - see it's all about doors and mazes.you see.

This thread is like a room full of doors. You can open a door and get in and then get a large magic marker and right all over the walls. You can pretty much write whatever the hell you feel like writing. Many people will enter and mark up the walls somethin fierce. The only problem is THEY haven't figured out a way to lock the doors so anybody can enter and defecate the walls if they like. That's how we end up with piss-poor analogies! :)

LOL, fair enough, to be honest I thought it was a thread aimed at the lamest of folk (ie those who have no way or idea of following the current goings on). But to be honest mate, I am not surprised anyone bothers giving info and bringing you guys upto date with the way you answer em.

However, to fall into line with what you want, after all your god...

Team YAOSM, has now got a pretty good datasheets, have found serial ports (SPI's to be correct), have tried to write instructions, instructions have failed due to it being different, they do need a dump as without it they can not see what instructions they need to fire in or where to fire them. At the moment, as it stands, there is some home that a previous D2B firmware "might" be used on the D2C chip.

Is that specific enough? Or do you want me to post things like MN102L failsafe found? Let me know because personally, I think a thread like this is probably aimed at noobs and not elite folk like yourself.

FFS, so first you want specific details, name of group ect. Now you want links???

Listen dude, Kafluke had a point, hence the reason I added more detail, but if you have not got the ability to research it yourself and find your own links (its not rocket science!) then I really am wasting my time. I am sorry to the original poster, who I feel wanted to know how things were going.

I am also sorry to Kafluke, who I genuinely feel just wanted more detail (name of group and specifics) . But I am outta here, good luck keeping yourselves updated.

I can't be bothered to waste my time with someone who thinks the word "dump" is an excuse to show off his humour genes.

if u look at the 5th post in the thread i looked at the release group rumoured to have cracked the d2c gave an url and commented on the validity of the site. I then researched further and found other forums that felt it was fake also.

i did not waffle on about paths and doors and other shite like u did. my info was short and held some relevance to the posters question

however you missed your chance
