I have to go out and buy a can of air for the lens and new media.I have been using Verbatim because it is one of the better ones for me to burn. I deleted the movie off the HD and use ripit4me to burn movie only and will update my firmware now. thanks for all your help. I REALLY DO LISTEN to you guys.

We just try and trouble shoot the problem to get to the root cause.
The suggestions we give are ones we usually do ourselves.
If you still have problems after doing the suggestions post back and we'll go from there.

you have had a successful burn since you have been having problems with this movie? I would probably save you money on the air cleaner, chances are you lens is fine. Cleaning it would be purely preventative... which is never a bad thing. If I were you, before going out and buying anything I would try the cheapest fix first, being to re-rip and try a burn. The movie you burnt last, was it using the same Verbatim discs?

yes the discs are verbatim +r and I went to the middle of the spindle and got a clean burn after the changes you suggest. Right now the burner has the newer firmware and will try to burn a dvd. we will see what happens, on a lighter note, i just learn how cut and paste a log on this site, for me that is PRICELESS!!!
