LoL You Mod guys really have to deal with some dumb az crap sometimes .

Anyway Ive been using RI4M and the latest Anydvd or near latest. Point is its still working for the most part but leaving my back-ups what i call dirty. Basically with shrink set to 43oo mB the back-up is reading more then that in a external dvd-rom. Its a weird thing that happens with a few titles and not Transfomers_Vanilla , But wrong turn 2 ,Reaping and the invisible . Ive fix the problem by using Fab HD but still is there might be something i missed. Generally i slip the back-up into the external dvd-rom and it should read 4300 or less if its more there is a problem.

Btw Did the different regions get different flavors of Transformers >;P

Haven't seen any logs for comparing "flavors". I don't get out much though. LOL

I'm not sure about your readings, but the more you compress a source, the lower the quality. Sometimes the difference isn't perceptible to the eye and sometimes it is. Instead of the 4300MB you have Shrink set to, I leave it set at default, 4464MB. Cutting down the file size is to keep from writing too close to the edge of a DVD. Normally that's only a problem with media that shouldn't be used in the first place. You have to ask yourself, how long will it take for a DVD with bad edges to get even worse? By the way, I try to use quality media and I've never had a problem with Shrink burning too close to the edge using the default size setting. Every bit helps. ;)

RI4M bypasses copy protection, rips the DVD content to HDD, and cleans up structure and bogus files. The FixVTS component is what removes and modifies structural content. It doesn't compress or alter the video. If FixVTS processing isn't needed, RI4M version 1710 offers the option to jump direct to Shrink without processing. If FixVTS is the culprit of your problems, I suspect we would have heard more comments from threads on FixVTS as well as RipIt4Me.

I probably use RI4M as much, or more, than most users. I still use it. For the few DVDs it can't do, there's DVDFab HD Decrypter. Comparing source quality, I see no difference between the two when they complete the "cleaning". Transcoding is usually where video degradation occurs. There's been a lot of threads cover that topic, if you want to check the archives. I'd tend to think the damage occurs with transcoding with Shrink instead of RI4M. How does your output compare when you use a transcoder like DVDCopy5, or CloneDVD2 to transcode the source files from the different decryption programs?

Most people are getting Transformers by unchecking extra languages and supbpictures. Checking all the Quality Settings in Backup is a must. If a person has problems they might want to go into Reauthor and delete menus and the end titles. But as I said, most people are getting it with 1 language and Quality Settings. I mentioned it before, Transformers is a good candidate for RB, but Shrink can do it.

VobBlanker would be my choice if not using DVD Rebuilder for removing unwanted items as well as fixing any errors.
