Non accepted sim card is the sim card does not belong to who carry the service for your samsung phone. For example if your samsung is AT&T phone, you have to put whatever sim card dos not belong to AT&T
By the way my nick is porto35 not proto35, but thanks anyway to put my name in your thread

dragon2k8: Did you set the password yourself. if you did, give me some time to see what I can do. A437 is fairly new and I don't see any firmware available right now. If you bought your phone from AT&T in US, you just go and buy $10.00 prepaid card for the phone and call AT&T requesting them to help you resetting your phone.

Yes I bought the phone myself and I locked it myself. My wife thinks I am doing it on purpose so I can't use my phone roflmao. I would like not to have to go to AT&T and give them more money but if that's your advice, Roger that!. I don't have any other sims cards in my home from other providers. Also, in your code are the (*) used as separators or do I have to use the star buttons??? I am hoping that I can just use the master reset password code that someone will provide and dishes would be done and I can finally make everyone happy again. So I am just basically standing by for more assistance. Thanks for everything.

just key exactly from the instruction. * is the key *. Hope that you can master reset ur phone. I've never tried it (and I do not want to) I don't know that you can reset or not. But requesting AT&T reset is the surely way.

Thanks again for all this help, time is running out for me :), So can I just use your reset code without finding another sim chip? There was a sim chip I think that came with the phone when I originally bought it. Can I use that SIM chip and use that code and unlock the Phone?
Thanks

I mean with another sim?. You cannot unlock by using AT&T SIM. You do not know anybody (friend, neighbor, co worker...) to borrow the SIM (Tmobile...)for 5 minutes to unlock ur phone.

Hi,
If I put T-Mobile "active" sim card in, in order to unlock my Samsung SGH A437 phone. Will it kill my SIM card? Will My Tmobile sim card still work with my Tmobile phone?
Thnak you,

I GOT IT NOW.
MOST PHONE COMPANIES (i.e. AT&T, don't let you unlock after 6 months.
After 6 months with AT & T, I unlock again and was success, all UNLOCKED now; including Network lock

Just bought 2 Samsung SGH-a437 phones, one red and one black from AT&T Wireless and your code worked for both of them! Thank you Porto 35!

This code worked great for me.
I thought I should mention though, that if you insert the sim card wrong, at the very end you of the procedure you'll get a "wrong password" message. So if that happens to you, check the sim card. When you insert if correctly it should say, "Wrong Card" or something like that.
I did it the wrong way several times before I figured it out.
Thanks
Sheila

What service provider are you using now ? Call your customer service from your current service and ask them for helping you setup the wap to use the browser and MMS. I know how to do it with AT&T and Tmobile but having no idea about the other service.

Thanks for the unlock. I *think* it worked on my ATT Go Phone A437. The *#7465625# entry reports all the functions to be unlocked.
However when I press MENU -> SETTINGS-> SET PHONE -> NETWORK SELECT the Network Select is greyed out. Is this being controlled by the SIM card or is the phone not really unlocked?
The select network is greyed out on my ATT and IDT sim card.
Thanks, Tim

Problem with network select greyed out seems to have fixed itself. I called IDT ( the SIM card supplier) in the UK today and activated my card over the phone. A few minutes later I got a text msg telling me to reboot the phone. I did and now I have the automatic and manual radio buttons available in this menu. This is with the IDT card inserted.
I am in the USA with a UK SIM card and UK phone number.
NOw a follow oin question: Should I leave the network in "automatic" or hand select one? I wil be using the phone in the UK in a couple of weeks. IDT uses Orange in the UK.
Thanks again to the poster for the unlock codes!!!

either way. If the automatic select network is not the network you want, you can always change into your desirable network
