Thanks for the unlock. I *think* it worked on my ATT Go Phone A437. The *#7465625# entry reports all the functions to be unlocked.

However when I press MENU -> SETTINGS-> SET PHONE -> NETWORK SELECT the Network Select is greyed out. Is this being controlled by the SIM card or is the phone not really unlocked?

The select network is greyed out on my ATT and IDT sim card.

Thanks, Tim
I am in the same situation. Is there a way to fix this(ATT SERVICE)? Thanks.

Hi,
When I put in the IDT SIM card that problem went away, when I put the ATT card back in it was locked again. It looks like the SIM card/provider controls the ability to manually select networks.

Does any one know a way around it if you have to use the ATT SIM card?

If ATT is the provider, you will only be able to connect with a roaming partner on ATT. This roaming partner is setup in the SIM card. Even if you able able to unlock the network provider, the call will fail. If the call does work by some strange luck, then ypu will be charged roaming rates, which are very high.

How come when I put in my old ATT *blue* sim card i can choose network selection but not when I put in the new ATT card? IS there any way to get around this? Will it ever be available even when I am out of contract? What will unlocking my phone do if it does not resolve the network selection issue?

I can't input the codes into my mobile phone with the SIM card that is locked. The screen says "SIM lock" only with a flashing cursor underneath where I should enter the SIM lock code. When I remove the SIM card and replace the battery, I can enter codes. But nothing has happened. What are the SIM unlock codes for the mobile phone when the SIM card is removed from the mobile? I have a Samsung X600. Does that have the same unlock codes?

Hi - I'm new to the forum and want to unlock my SGH-A437 phone from ATT - I live in Mexico and want to use the same phone and just switch sims when I am traveling to the US. My concern is that if I use this code to unlock my phone, I can't use the ATT sim that it is currently activated to. That's not a big problem - no money on it - just want to know if I should get a new ATT sim for use after I unlock it. Will that work?

Thanks so much!

You still can use AT&T SIm card. Unlock means that your phone can be used with any SIM card, ATT included

I successfully unlocked my AT&T Samsung A437 using the method described in this thread, but when I re-inserted my AT&T SIM card, my contact list was all but wiped out. All I have left are a couple of numbers I stored on my SIM card and 7 numbers AT&T provides for services (checking bill balance, directory assistance, etc.). These latter numbers seem to be stored in the phone, but maybe they are hardwired in. All of my missing numbers were stored in the phone, rather than on the SIM card. Has anyone else experienced this?

5. AND THEN *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks are inactive...these are all the locks...
network lock - active
subset lock - inactive
sp lock - inactive
cp lock - inactive
sim lock - inactive
activa lock - inactive
phone lock - inactive
auto network - inactive
auto subset lock - inactive
auto sp lock - inactive
auto cp lock - inactive.
I GOT IT NOW.
MOST PHONE COMPANIES (i.e. AT&T, don't let you unlock after 6 months.
After 6 months with AT & T, I unlock again and was success, all UNLOCKED now; including Network lock

Who is your provider. Have you try to put the original SIM (AT&T I guess) back and what the message said. As I told you I have seen any similar problem like yours . Most of the time, your current provider shown that means the phone already unlocked.
Try this
1. First with different carrier SIM(which would be your T-mobile SIM) in phone at WRONG CARD screen ENTER on the keypad
2. *2767*3855# (wait 10-15 seconds) phone will reboot(restart)
3. When phone completes reboot ENTER
*7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
4. NEXT ENTER
#7465625*638*00000000#
5. AND THEN *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks are inactive...these are all the locks...
network lock - inactive
subset lock - inactive
sp lock - inactive
cp lock - inactive
sim lock - inactive
activa lock - inactive
phone lock - inactive
auto network - inactive
auto subset lock - inactive
auto sp lock - inactive
auto cp lock - inactive

Note: In few steps you would not see what you type on the screen.
Example: In step 3. when you type *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#, on screen it shows *7465625*638*--------*--------#

so what should i do when the network lock says active?

new awesome problem for you geniuses out there, I used Samsung PC studio multimedia manager, latest version, to put some ringtunes on my sgh a437,
it put them in a folder called music, supposedly hierarchically next to the downloaded audio folder, but it can't be accessed by the phone, or even explored by any part of samsung pc studio, it can only add more tunes, i can see the files only when selecting a ringtone for a specific contact, it shows up when browsing right/left from the other audio folders, but the ringtone will never play.

so now I have no space left on my phone and no way to delete those files
I have tried all the resets, the files are still there

is there a windows program that lets you explore your phone's folders? even the hidden/locked/restricted etc.?
