I got banned last Sunday.. played fifa08, accepted update and re-booted, the update also gave me the 3 red lights & blank tv screen, contacted M/S and they told me I "breached the terms & conditions"..BANNED?

Secondary error codes are checked by pressing and holding the sync button, there is no need for the display to work, here is a link that tells you how to obtain secondary error codes:

I had the same problem after installing an update that I downloaded from the xbox.com - I still wasn't able to play divx encoded videos. The only solution is to sign in to xbox live and while being logged in try playing the same divx video again. If all done right at that moment 360 should display a download update page, download and install it and then quickly disconnect from live. It should work fine after that.
PS. I have a modded DVD drive.

After downloading the update, I still can't get any files to work, when I try to play one it says that I need to update to watch these kind of files, but it won't let me connect to Live for some reason...
Any ideas ? maybe someplace else I can download that update ?

The codec requires you to be online for it to work, broswe through your hd, and deleted the already downloaded codec, and download it again, remain connected to live, it should work. good luck

Actually, it won't even let me connect to Live for some reason, after I downloaded the update it just say "connecting" but nothing happens..
I ran the test and all seem to be fine, just won't connect..

Thats strange, is your console modded? could be the consoles banned, does everything get confirmed when you run the test including xbox live?

It's not modded, and yes everything get confirmed when I run the test, including xbox live..pretty strange, and annoying..

i can play backups fine. i've downloaded every update i've come across and not had any problems connecting on live. guess it just depends on what drive you have maybe?

it also depends on if your games are stealth patched or not. that is the main reason people get kicked off. there is a new program out for macs that checks to see if the iso's are correctly stealthed patched so you can play on live undetected. you can find it here www.nukedsoftware.com

my xbox 360 is banned.. not that i was the one that got it banned. i bought it banned. unfortunatelly the guy who sold me this pre modded xbox 360 did not tell me that it was ban. now i cant play xbox lives nor update my dashboard. this really sucks...

I have just downloaded the update and it has come down as a BIN file and a CUE file, what do i do with them?
