psp started with same problem again so been in touch with sony to arrange a replacement, i know they will swap with courier and at the moment it wont turn on but my question is, if i get it to turn on before the swap date would it be worth flashing it in order to remove the 3.71 m33-4 firmware so that they dont question it in the warranty or does doin this not affect the warranty in any way shape of form?

That will definitely void your warranty unless there's a guy in Sony who's very nice and helps you.
So you have tried the MMS + Pandora Battery?
Tell me how you made the MMS.

I bought a PSP off ebay real cheap that had this sort of problem, except that the green light flashed for about 1/4 second or less then went out. After days of pulling my hair out and almost dumping it, I found out that the USB socket was shorting out something on the PC board it was mounted to.
I noticed that by squeezing the PSP around the plug, the PSP would work. By plugging in a USB cable, I saw that by bending it certain ways, the console would shut down if it was working or if it was "dead" it would start working again.
Try it out, it costs nothing to try.
Good luck.

Was just about to give ya that link but I wanted to make sure you had a FAT and not a SLIM. Because if it was a SLIM the steps would have been different.
Glad ya found my guide useful.

i have fat psp System Software Version 3.80.
then now i have the pandora battery on my memory stick. buy each time i try to run it. it says. THE GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED.(8002014C) And it came with four folder on my psp and two of them were corrupted.
My friend have a psp System Software 3.52 M33-4
And when i put my Memory Stick, where the pandora battery is. i was able to run it. it shows only two folder, one for installer and the other creator.
so what can i do to fix the psp. or how can i update to psp System Software 3.52 M33-4. so i can run the pandora battery on my psp.

If your friend has a 3.52 M33-4 custom firmware PSP then follow this guide HERE to create the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery using their custom firmware PSP. Then use them in your PSP to install custom firmware to it.
Your official firmware PSP can not run the Pandora Creator application due to having Official firmware on the PSP.
So you either need to...
1) Use your friends or find someone else that has a custom firmware PSP to run the application for the Pandora Battery.
2) Buy a Datel Tool Battery.
3) Hardmod the battery to a Pandora Battery if it is compatible to do so.

PSP Problems Continue lol
Since my last post i was able to FINALLY use pandoras battery to send my PSP back to 1.50 and was on working fine (whilst plugged in)
reverted pandoras battery back to normal and now the green power light comes on for about 15 seconds and then goes off, im hoping that this is just because of the hardware fault because since i reverted back to 1.50 surely that won't void my warranty as thats an official sony firmware
although i am keeping trying to get it on in order to upgrade the firmware officially through an official sony releasejust incase is starts working again lol

The Pandora Battery is used to get the PSP into service mode so it can install the custom firmware to the offical PSP using the Memory Stick. After you install/update the custom firmware the Battery will be converted back to normal.
If both PSP's are FAT PSP's then it doesn't matter which Battery you use. Just make sure the Battery your going to convert to a Pandora Battery is in your friends custom firmware PSP. Becuase that is the only PSP that can run the application at this time.
Custom firmware 3.71 M33-4 + 1.50 ADD ON-2 has a few more options then 3.52 M33-4. So your friend might want to think about going to 3.71 M33-4 + 1.50 ADD ON-2 as well. He can do this by using the Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick as well after you have created it.
After you have created both the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery place the Magic Memory Stick into your PSP then place the Pandora Battery in it. A menu will come up letting you install 3,71 M33 to the PSP (It will actually install 3.71 M33-2).
After you have finished using it on your PSP use it on your friends as well if he wants to update to 3.71 M33-4 + 1.50 ADD ON-2.
After you have used the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora battery on your PSP or both PSP's finish the above linked guide to convert the Battery from a Pandora Battery back to a normal Battery.
Now use the additional files included on the Magic Memory Stick to install the 3.71 M33-4 update and 1.50 ADD ON-2 under Game Menu Memory Stick.

Try booting into recovery mode (R-Trigger + Turn On). If it does not work, then get the OS Pandora Battery Tool and backed up the eeprom, then just flash the eeprom back to the battery. If you did not back up eeprom/just downloaded it, then I think there is a flash fake serial button on the menu of the tool. Use that option. If it still doesn't work, then ask your friend if you can put OS Tool on his PSP and convert his battery to pandora. Then use the unbricking method on your PSP, must have Magic Memory Stick. That's pretty much all the options.
Good luck...
