I identical troubles as you I am going to attempt the sata cable hope it works for me also. I am on my third day of reading and trying all kinds of tutorials and still no-go

when flashing the benq you don't turn the 360 on until AFTER you hit Y to resend mtk vendor.

Problems could have been solved a lot faster for the OP had somebody mentioned that earlier as that is what he did by plugging in the sata cable AFTER hitting y to resend. I'm glad to see he had some common sense. That's a plus. I think.
