thanks for your previous replies... you must have written them while i was already posting my next desperation post! ha ha!

i haven't tried either of those 2 programs to "clean up" the files... which is better? i don't suppose i need both? (vobblanker and fixvts)

also, should i only be dvd shrinking the video file and not the audio file too? (asking cuz of rtm's post)

thanks oodles, all!

They're the same difference. I'm sure rtm will help you out on this one :)

Aww, gee.....thanks Creaky!!

Both programs are good to use, so the pick is up to you. I use fixvts, as others use vobblanker.

The only folder you need to use to work is the 'vidoe_ts' folder. That contains all the audio and video files for the disk.

When using fixvts, you can either replace the files as you proces them, or make a new folder. That is up to you.

When using dvd shrink, there is an option to 'create a video_ts folder'. Again, that is up to you. I don't create any video_ts folders, as I don't see any use for it.

thanks! downloaded vobblanker but i'm so confused as to all the different options... got an error message... something about the pcgs are marked as not one seq? but can be... vobblanker will do it in output ifos? do i click ok?

and then what about all the check boxes? is there a forum post that will tell me exactly what i need to know, what boxes to check, etc?
i.e. : use input folder, process titles, process menus, remove puops in vobs, remove puops in ifos?

rtm, so i NEVER need the audio files? i've been burning/shrinking those too... do i ONLY NEED VIDEO_TS.IFO???

sorry for the remedial questions!

vobblanker does indeed look scary, but you only need to use it in the most basic way. Point the input box at the folder where DVDFab ripped the movie to, point the outbox box at any empty folder or a new folder and just hit process. Burn the output files to disc (save the DVDFab files 'til after you've watched film ie 'til you're happy with the results).

Yeah, there is no reason (as far as I have noticed) as for the need of the audio_ts folder.

Quote:
The empty AUDIO_TS folder is normally required for the disc to be recognized as a working DVD.
This is from the aD glossary and would be the reason for keeping the audio_ts folder.

So if I need the audio file to have it recognized as a working DVD (and I DO want to be able to play this on a DVD player) then I should burn the audio file too?

Well, after vobblanker, it STILL errors out at the end of DVD shrink. Any other thoughts? Return the DVD now after it's opened? sigh.

Thanks for any other suggestions...

When I use dvd shrink, I don't make seperate folders. I just have it save the files to one disk. Has worked great on all the dvd's I have done to date.

If vobblanker doesn't work, you might still want to try fixvts. See if that works for ya.

DVDShrink automatically creates the proper files (Video_TS and Audio_TS) for you regardless whether you choose to output to file or ISO mode.

@goodgrrl

One question for you, when you started DVD Shrink, did you imported the "already processed" VIDEO_TS file/folder that's done by VobBlanker or the ripped VIDEO_TS file from DVDFab HD Decrypter?

The latest DVDFab HD Decrypter 5122 should be able to handle this without any issue. However, can you "printscreen" the error/s via DVD Shrink and post back?

About the AUDIO_TS, just leave it alone, don't need to do anything. I recommend to have DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip as VIDEO_TS files and not ISO.

To use VobBlanker, simply import/load the VIDEO_TS.IFO that's already been ripped by DVDFab HD Decrypter. Create a new VIDEO_TS folder for "output" on a new directory/hard drive or same if only one. Simply click PROCESS!!, wait 5 - 6 minutes and it should be done.

Start up DVD Shrink, Open Files and navigate to new "output" VIDEO_TS folder that's been "processed" by VobBlanker and continue on as usual.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

well, i was just about to give up on casanova and i gave it one more try... dvd fab prompted me to download the new version (5.1.2.2)and at first it wouldn't work. Encountered a Reading/Writing Error Control... "Error while reading. Please choose what to do: Retry/Abort/Ignore/Ignore All" I tried again. No luck. Then I switched to my other burner drive... BINGO!!!! worked fabulously, no vobblanker needed. HURRAY! i've only watched about 15 min of it, but it looks fine so far... fingers crossed. YIPPEE!!!! thanks to all who helped along the way...
