Guys, there's not a limit but we have gone WAaaaY of topic.
Also these questions really belong on the DVD XCopy forum, I started out trying to give a little advice and like my friend Rotary said we've really overdone it-

My last answer here - DVD43 isn't recommended by 321 anymore - I spoke with ireland awhile back and he was recommending AnyDVD and DVDRegionFree (both around $40.00)
Too much trouble with DVD43.

damn where is that damn rattle of mine,, LOL anyWHO,, i will be sure to read all the threads from now on before i bother anyone. Hey Pete,, you are a stand up guy and I really appreciate all the efforts you have shown me,, I tried the DVD Shrink and it works pretty cool. I have a question for you , however,,, ( hiding rattle, and benky ) i tried DVD Shrink on both my systems and one works exactly as you described,, and the other one works as well , but i dont use Nero,, simply because it doesnt ask for it,, it simply goes ahead and starts writing on its own,, question,, both were loaded identically and one burns and one doesnt,, is this normal ?

DVD Shrink works exactly the way it has been setup. It sounds like you need to go "Edit", "Preferences", "File I/O and then "tick" the box that says "Enable Burning with Nero".
While you're at it, Go to "Edit" and check the line that says "Full Disc Backup". That will save you an extra mouse click.

I've been using DVD43 along with ICOPYDVDs2 and have been pretty successful backing up the majority of my collection. However, I have two questions... I notice that there is an updated version of DVD43. Since I'm already running Windows XP, would there be any advantage to updating at this point? Also, I've noticed that the little yellow face seems to come and go on my task bar (right now it seems to have disappeared). What is up with this? By the way, I bought my copy of ICOPYDVDs2 at a computer show quite awhile ago for $17.95 and it seems to work very well with DVD43.
I'm just a CATFREAK meow!

Howdy catfreak, Welcome to our little Club,
When applications are updated it's generally to fix "Bugs" in it or allow it to handle some new technology which has come out which the older version wasn't set up to do.
I recommend that you download the new version BUT that you place it in a different directory so that if you're not satisified with the new version you can go back to the old one and delete the latest one. Turn off the version you're not using in msconfig, Startup.
As far as your "Little smily face" - as you know, when it's working, the face changes colors. If you haven't used it for awhile, it may dissapear from your working taskbar until you call for it again. If this isn't the case, consider uninstalling it then reinstalling it.
NOTE: Remember, when uninstallinmg a program alway s reboot your PC (even if it's not called for) to help "Flush it out". Whenever you install a program, always reboot your PC (even though it doesn't call for it) to help "Settle" it in.
Glad you're having such good luck burning, keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Pete

Thanks for your time and your quick response, Pete. I'm getting ready to download (or is it Dawnload?) the new DVD43. Last night I backed up two copy-protected DVD's, but the cute little face didn't come back to me. Other than that everything's running fine so I'm not sweating it.
Keep your air tank full and your flippers on tight, Pete ...
Warm Regards ...
