That's not possible in the bank owned UK .. no bank account.. no income.. simple as.

When they all DEMAND a driving license and passport (the only ID they will accept) to open an account these days you can end up trapped in a system which will stand on the "you have a contract" with whatever rip off business who carry on taking money after a "free trial" period has ended...

In the current climate I feel government should do more to break the stranglehold the banks have on us.. If we don't want to deal with them then we should have the LEGAL RIGHT to demand payment from employers in a form which we can access without having to let the greedy and bankrupt banks get their cut... either cash or some form of check which is instantly convertible to cash.
The system as it stands sucks big time.. it's blatantly wrong for pay to be only accessible through the banks.. who take 2-7 days to clear it.. all the time they are making interest on it which they do not pass on to us.
