Hi, I started having real trouble with shrink blue screen lockups(DRIVER_IRQ_NOT LESS.....etc) usually at about 70% backup.
One movie just refused to work
Tried msconfig-disable - failed
Downloaded version 3.1.7.6 - failed
Tried VMR7 rendering - failed
Turned off burn with Nero - failed
Used DVDDecryptor first - then open file with shrink - failed
eventually used 'Built in software renderer' - success!!
maybe just luck - so tired of this I didn't try it again since. Hope this might help somebody.
Anyone any info on what these different rendering options do exactly - I'm new to all this.
(Oh - was on system default renderer)

When ever I have a program that I think should do it fail - the first thing I do is reboot my PC.

You have no idea how many times it makes a difference - As drchips once said, give the PC a clean set of underwear - LOl

Try it, what have you got to lose - let me know if it helps -

You might also want to uninstall any photographic capture software which can interfere sometimes with Shrink, i.e. software associated with a capture card. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice Pete, however every time I get this blue screen I have to reboot, in fact I changed settings to give me a blue screen instead of an auto trip and restart so I'd know what was happenning.

I only put this PC together recently and guess I have some driver problem. The problem only seems to occur using shrink and all the drivers are XP certified.
Any thanks again - I haven't got round to trying the program since.

A final thought, when encoding and burning your PC works harder than at any other time - being low on RAM or programs running in the background can cause a PC to overheat (somewhere around 810 degrees.). When this happens the PC generally crashes (shuts down) in order to allow a cool down. We recommend adding a heat-sink or an additional PC fan.
