nForce 750i might work, I'm not for sure. He is going to need to make sure Jungle Flasher sees his BenQ (PBDS VAD6038), and click BenQ unlock on it.

First off: Thanks for a great easy to understand tutorial.
Secondly: Unfortunately my PC is completely shot, my motherboard melted: don't ask... Anyways I was wondering if anyone out there has managed to firmware update the 360 using a PCMCIA card similar or exact as the card in the link below?
http://www.easymg.com/vt6421a-pcmcia-car...r-xbox-360.html
I would like to avoid spending needless $ if this will for sure not work and just wait until I build another PC. So thank you to everyone's input and keep it gaming.

What is the error message when you try play the game?
Don't flash ix1.5, it definitely won't play Wave 3.

Your UFC game must have been patched with wave 2 info to play on lower firmware. NOT LIVE SAFE. That is why it won't working in ix1.6 because it has strict stealth checking. I would throw the game away, burn a good copy, and reflash ix1.6.

Then there is an issue with the BenQ. There is no way ix1.5 firmware can read a wave 3 game unless it has been patched!

Are you sure it wasn't ix1.51. 1.51 will boot wave 3. Only way a wave 3 game can play on lower firmware, is if it has been patched with wave 2 data.

Is this an ideal method for a drive even If I'm not planning on playing backups? The hitachi drive in my friends console went bad , so we ordered a new BenQ one.

No, you will need to follow a hitachi jungle flasher tutorial to dump the key then spoof it to the benq. Don't load an ixtreme firmware if you want a stock drive.

You'll need to figure out how to dump the Hitachi firmware (JungleFlasher tutorial is great). Then in JungleFlasher:
Load your original Hitachi firmware into source.
Load IX 1.6 for BenQ into target.
Click spoof source to target.
Go to MTKFlash tab and get BenQ into vendor mode.
Write firmware.

Try click "Intro/Device ID". You should get a pop up, click OK. As soon as you click OK, dots will go across the bottom of JF. Unplug the BenQ power cable and plug it back in as quick as you can. That should allow you to gain access to the flash chip (status 0x73). If you get that, go ahead and read the firmware.

I'm not sure if ICH5 chipset will be able to work. You might have to try booting to a USB drive and reading the firmware with dosflash.

It has a nForce chipset so there is a good chance it will work. What you can do on your 64bit PC though is use DosFlash32(GUI) v1.8 to read your drive. Then use JungleFlasher to prepare the firmware, and then use DosFlash32 again to write the firmware.
